You Want to Put Your Opt-In Box on my Website? What?

Yeah seriously, if some one asked you that question.

Not that any one would be crazy enough to do that, but what if....

What price would you set based on your site size, traffic, value per lead acquired through opt-ins.

If you know your numbers and stats, have you ever sat down and figured out how much your opt-in form is worth to your internet business?

    Interesting topic. I'm preparing an offer and it will be a part of the deal. Love to see how shocked most folks responses are.

    How much would you folkses want? And, would you consider it if it was an income opportunity?

    I allow people to put opt-in boxes on my site .... I guess I am crazy ....

    Optin box on the directory is a cool thing. It would allow a lot more avenues for promo and it might actually be worth a decent penny if the site it was on did conversion type traffic and/or it has my own ads on the article.

    I can see this happening in the near future because it has been talked about and in fact is on a few different networks now. I just like the new video stuff being done and instant click while playing to YOUR site or redirect where YOU want it to go... This stuff will be worth a few extra bucks as I see it....

    It depends upon the package... I might look for it to be on a $50 to $100 package but, it is also how the value is looked at by the customer and I personally would pay extra and that is because I personally know the value is A LOT!!!

      Now I am no math wiz... so any one who finds fault or can quantify with different variables please step in and do so.

      Lets say you have a subscriber list of 1000 members.

      Each time you send out an offer you get an avg of 1% that buys.

      Your avg offer is $27 dollars so your opt-in box could be valued at $270 dollars per offer you send.

      Any one else agree or would like to expound on it please do so.

    Id say if you have auxiliary sites then maybe, but if it's on your number 1 bread and butter, NO WAY! Considering that constantly generating fresh emails and leads is what keeps growth steady, it would just be setting you up to fail. List are only fresh for so long... It would have to be quite significant...

    It would be a lot per month depending on the type of site, how many pages the box is on, what the traffic is like, and how the site is placed in the SEs.

    For instance, if I did that with that old article directory I had, I would have charged anywhere from $300 - $1000 per month. But that site was a main hub, got great traffic, and was well placed.

    The draw back with a directory like that is the target market that will be signing up, so whoever wants the box placed on the site would have to be targeting that specific market to get the best bang for their buck.

      The targeted market is the market you target with your articles. It's a very simple process which has been done successfully...

        Seriously though, directories are different, and there is a whole different market with article directories, especially now.

        Think about it for a minute - they are not like normal websites. They have an entirely different readership.

        You posted again before I finished this one so I wanted to add ...

        What I meant is that it can catch on easily.

          That depends upon who you target... People come to article directories looking for information just like they go looking at a blog for information. You can promote an article the exact same way you do your blog.

          Bookmark, CrossLiking, Backlinks, and etc ...

          Of course it is not a normal website but the article can be treated the same as a landing page. Course this depends upon the article directory, I can see those ad sense farms this would be a little hard on but a ad free article directory there is no problem..

      It really seems that it would be a hard thing to quantify. So many variables to consider.

      About that directory site, it would be possible to target a box inside a specific category which in essence would make the box worth more in respects to targeted subscribers while having less subscribers per visitor.

      So it could be very difficult to quantify because of all the elements involved so can we just say,

      PRICELESS? = 0

    Traffic Bug,

    I can see it being a new thing very easily. What I'm worried about is what James brought up. It'll be like sending people away from your site to another site in some cases. So would that be worth the gamble or not?

    To me it would be in some cases, but not with my primary sites - but those sites are the ones you can charge high prices with.

    It is something to think about though and weigh the pros and cons.

      Yes but this is not a new idea at all .. Is this not what you already do with articles ? You get them to click on a link to your site away from the directory and most the time your site has a opt-in. Well that article includes the opt-in and thus you cut out an extra click.
