Hey Warriors,

I am just wondering why most internet marketers struggle online?

I have a few ideas as to why but I am interested to see what other people say...

Thanks,

So what are your ideas? I think it can be a lot of things...things I am even dealing with. Things like focus, and doing the same things that work daily.

Not for me personally, but I imagine plenty have trouble sticking with one system or plan, and are often jumping to the next deal that promises to make them $5000000 in 20 minutes.

I think the problem often has little to do with internet marketing and more to do with the person. Put it this way, I think an Olympic champion would have a much higher chance of success if they started an internet business.

An Olympic champion would have a great understanding of what it takes to succeed, the sacrifice needed to make it and how to push themselves far beyond their comfort level.

Most people often blame the system or guru, when in fact they should be looking inward and blaming themselves. Not to say that they are failures, but that it is them that needs to improve.

I am a super Noob when it comes to Internet Marketing and just lately I was thrown in the mix with a ton of established and pretty well know internet marketers. I have witnessed first hand what they all have in common...

They are all determined, passionate and very very creative. These days you have to think outside the norm to get better than average results. I have been so impressed on the amount of original ideas these people come up with on a daily basis.

Like I said I'm a noob in the field of internet marketing and only got thrown in the mix because I am a filmmaker traveling the country in an RV and have been networking with other traveling internet marketers.

What I have been hearing the most so far is that, internet marketing aint easy and if you got ****ty work ethic before you jumped into internet marketing, your going to have a real tough time being successful.

        Cheers!

I think a lot of people, probably the vast majority, of IMers are just looking for the quick fix, get rich quick plan. Having read a lot of the copy targeted at this niche, I can't say I blame them for it, but it's easy to buy into the hype and ignore what makes a system truly work. Nobody wants to work hard at something, so they try it for a few weeks, find it doesn't work, and then jump to the next thing. The rest of us (myself included) just need to learn the game.

Good point. I think that a lot of people assume that because it is on the internet, making money online should happen faster than other businesses.

I think if people would treat it like a business right from the get-go, then they would be much better off.

I think it's because some people give up too easily. There really isn't any method that is going to make the quick dollars so people think that it's not working and then move on to the next thing. So they never really give anything a chance to work.

I'm not so sure most internet marketer's do struggle online.

When I started online my very first adwords ad started making me $300-$500 s month immediately.

I think those who struggle are the ones who buy a course then don't follow it exactly. Even though they may think they are following it correctly, when you check what they did they left out important steps.

Because they are not taking enough action...
Because they tend to see fault in others but not himself...
Because they have high ego that they know everything and refrain learning...
Because they have not realize how little time is left..
Because they want to do everything at the same time...
Because they did not realize they used to do everything half ass...
Because they lack determination and drive to keep moving...
Because they do not realize that every mistake that they made is actually knowing another way of not doing something (Thomas Edison)...
Because they have no planning and if they did, all plans have no deadlines...

Short attention span is probably the culprit here. People also want quick results! It's like going to the gym. How many here made a new year's resolution to work hard in the gym only to half-ass it after about a week because they didn't notice the lbs coming off and quit altogether? LOL!!
Persistance and motivation...nothing else will work for you. Have to keep working at it just like everything else in life if you want any kind of success.
Yeah...it sucks but what can you do? Life is tough!

Those described me at some point ... hopefully i am over it now!

I think the get rich quick mentality has always made people venture into some sort of venture online or offline and has the same results.

Most dont see it as building a business ... which is hard to imagine if you have been an emplyee your whole life also.

It has a lot to do with planning and following the plan with a positive mind set. Too many jump from one thing to the other and never complete anything. Believe to achieve but you must keep at it. There are no get rich schemes it really boils down to dedication. It is a bit like training in the gym - the more you train the better you get. The more you work on following your plan - the better you will be.

Most don't have a plan or an understanding of... what they are trying to do. Taking action alone does no good!

It kind of goes like this.

    1. They don't ask any questions
    2. They don't listen to the answers
    3. They don't do as they're told
    4. They don't wait for results

Somewhere along the line, they don't think they need to do what everyone who gets results is doing, so they jump off the bus early and say "this isn't my stop!" as though something is wrong with the bus driver.

I think for alot it's the inability to stick to a plan and have the determination and focus to see it through to the end. Rather than jumping from one "hot new thing" to another.

In the end, they continue to stay right where they started. With just a bunch of theories and no practice implementing them.

I'm struggling with sticking to a solid plan. I pick my niche, pick the product I want to promote, create the site and then just get confused. Backlinking is so much work and when I don't see results within a week I start changing everything completely or start a new project.

I realize the fault in this and am working on improvement.

    Lack of knowledge.

Everything else - lack of focus, inability to contentrate, etc - all come from a lack of knowledge.

I know this because this is what happened to me.

In order to even begin to succeed, you need to learn how to do what it is you're trying to do.

So when you get a book, a course, or whatever, study it properly, and then go to the next one.

Falling for hype. Not realising that that one needs to get to grips with the real basics. And yes jumping from Super-dooper method to super-dooper method without really getting into one method properly. Occasionally it's not grasping fast enough that one is on the wrong road!

Probably information overload with trying to follow all the new hyped up products and giving up too soon. Personally, I saw results by following certain marketers teachings, watching what each and every successful marketer there is has in common for long term success and focusing on duplicating that. Every new product coming onto the market could work but only as an addition NOT as a replacement. By focusing on one part brought results. So maybe it's lack of focus too?

Very interesting feedback here, and all correct in their own way. I also want to think it's information overload - there is so much happening out there, the other reason is not paying attention to detail or following their coaching to the T, thus jumping from coach to coach or sytem to system if you like, and generally many of us get put off with some technical challenges - leading to not implemmenting the techniques and strategies.

I think we also tend to be comfortable and perhaps have other options, because if you really are faced with a crisis, it's either you come out or you drown. We wait until we are really pressed.

      1) Lack of patience.

      2) Believing in the hype created.

      3) Applying blackhat techniques.

My belief is that IM in comparison to a business with a more physical presence requires the same amount of focus if you want to succeed.

What I love about IM is that failure so much less risky then say, opening up a shop on the high street, especially in todays state of economy.

        Struggling is credited to:

        1) following guidelines but lacking patience
        2) not following guidelines or trying to reinvent things
        3) trying to do too many things at once
        4) not doing enough on a daily basis and trying to cram too much in a limited amount of time

In regards to reinventing the wheel, sometimes it's a good thing but for most people it's much wiser to stick to some good advice in the begining.

With more experience, we can certainly better ourselves and bring forth new ideas.
