RSS Feeds - I Am Out of Ideas.

Some people have been saying that RSS feeds are becoming a very powerful marketing tool.

I have totally neglected rss feeds so far, it has just been sitting there waiting for people to subscribe to it if they wish to do so.

So I did some research about RSS Feeds and the best I could come up with is to submit them in various feed directories, which I have done now. It has increased traffic to my site a little bit but noting major.

I also set up a supporting site to promote the RSS feeds from my website and encourage people and blog and website owners to sign up to the feed. I have also added them to my squidoo lens and some other social media sites. Anyway, that is it I can think of doing with RSS Feeds.

Can somebody give me any more ideas how to promote my site with them.
Also if there is some new and innovative ways that some of you are using rss feeds, could you share it with us.

And Can somebody also tell me what sort of link power they will give me if any as they constantly changing, sometimes two, three times a day so there would not be enough time for Google to even pick them up.

You could encourage other webmasters and bloggers in your niche to display your RSS feed on their pages..

There's a few free tools and plugins out there that allow you to do this, but only do it if you update on a regular basis.

In one of my niches I turned a 2000 visitor a day site into a 5000 per day site from just doing that, mind you it was already well established and had a list of over 10,000.

In my experience you gotta build traffic slowly over time, layer by layer, unless you're budget is quiet big. You're moving the right direction though.

Actually I did set up a little site to promote and encourage webmasters to display the feeds ( link in the fist post) I do not know if it would be any help as webmasters do not receive any real benefits from doing so.

Did you give them code to paste straight into their site?

If you just ask them to do it themselves they will need an RSS parser or a plugin that can handle the parsing of RSS into valid HTML..

The best way to do it is by sorting out the parsing of RSS first at your end, so they just copy and paste in a few lines of code to their pages, and it automatically displays your latest posts.

I did try to make it as easy as possible. I did put the code there that can be copied and added to the website and I did also left the option ( with instructions ) for styling the feeds for themselves so that it would mach their website or a blog.

Depending on your niche, which you might not wanna share, I've got a tip for buku RSS traffic. Drop me a PM, posting it in the open will ruin it for everyone else.

Won't work for every niche and your site has gotta be updated at least a few times a day with good original content.
