 you still make a living with Article Marketing?

Hi all.

Long time lurker, just signed up here, and have my first question )

I'm a writer, I like to write, whether it's blog entries for friends, poetry, emails, that sort of thing. Now I see there's the make $150 a day within a month pdf doing the rounds, and it seems interesting, but is it still doable these days? Will I still be able to make a good bit of money in that time frame? Being out of work a the moment I have a lot of time on my hands, after I've been looking for work of course.

Any help from you seasoned pros would be most helpful.

Many thanks for your help in advance as I'm sure it'll be good.

Ghost writing is also very lucrative, whether it be articles or ebooks.

Obviously ebooks more so than articles.

      Good luck to you!

Yes i agree, you'll make more money being a ghostwriter but first you need to create a reputation for yourself as a very good writer. Writing quality articles and posting them on ezines will get you noticed quickly, you should also register as a freelance writer with elance.com and other good outsourcing websites.
        Good Luck!

          Thank you for your advice.

Actually, for me anyway, I have no articles posted on ezines nor will you find me registered as freelance writer with elance.com.

All of my work comes from clients who approached me from reading some of my for fun blog and some others from just seeing my posts here on the forum, and other forums as well.

That turned into referrals, repeat customers etc.

I guess you could say, they just came to me and my business took off after that. I am thankful and feel extremely blessed!

I guess you could say that's just one more reason I am "out of the box!":p

Threads asking how to do Article Marketing come up quite often here - so I have a standard reply - I hope this helps:

Two brilliant threads to read about article marketing are these:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html

Read them both - all the way through - and take notes.

For further information I recommend the following directory - It is education in article marketing - a guide book and monthly newsletters - with a directory thrown in! You can read what Warriors think about it here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...alks-walk.html

Article Directory - Article Marketing Community

I can also recommend the WSO's from this guy:

    View Profile: Zeus66

This guy also has some good stuff - some article marketing some on other things

    Hope this helps.

Articles are the life blood of the internet.

Although videos are becoming more prominent, the written word will always be.

As a side note, consider this: I can sell an ebook for $27 - $37 on the 'net that I could buy for $14.95 in a book store.
And, my customers could find the same info for free with a little 'net surfing.

And, several articles strung together make an ebook.

None of my ebooks are just several articles strung together, IMHO that would make for a poor ebook.

With all due respect, if you take the word book, everyone knows what a book is, just by adding an e shouldn't change what a book really is. I'm sure many renound authors would agree with me.

The reason for that is the fact that you can skim through articles MUCH faster than it takes to play a video.

Yes it is possible but you have to know how to do it right. Most people give it a try and then give up and tell others it does not work when they never learned how to do it properly.

All of these people are completely right, you can make a living with article marketing. But, you need to find something that has been completely untapped.

Case in point, i have about 150 articles on ezine, with a collective 72,000 page views or something like that, been posting on there since like 2001. I found a guy that is promoting a product, he has less than 10 articles in his account, and for just two of his articles he has 100,000+ page views....

You need to jump on a product before it gets popular to succeed with article marketing.

Hi! I for one am a fan of content marketing via article directories because:

    1. it exposes my content and backlinks to more people in my target reader group,

    2. it improves the Google PR of my linked pages,

    3. it improves the search engine rankings of my pages for my target keywords,

    4. my published articles on top article directories can usually outrank my competitors, and

    5. it gives me more content to post on my websites.

Now those benefits above are just ways to advertise and promote my products/services to more people in my target reader group. Since hardsell content isn't allowed in those article directories, I need to use softsell content marketing writing strategies for my campaigns to be more effective in giving me the results I need.

"Softsell content marketing writing" is writing content without sounding like you're selling something, but most likely closes the sale for you nonetheless. Here's a sample headline/title along with a sample paragraph:

The Philippines is Now the Top Asian Country for Tourism and Outsourcing

The Philippines is a beautiful country. It offers fantastic island beaches and warm tropical weather. Filipinos are kind and hospitable. Its economy is booming due to ICT (Information & Communications Technology) and outsourcing. Visiting this country will surely be a great experience, be it for leisure or business.

    Here's the format:

    Main Claim Here

Subclaim to support main claim. Proof 1. Proof 2. Proof 3. Action statement.

Now here's a sample of a softsell marketing content outline using the headline and paragraph above:

The Philippines is Now the Top Asian Country for Tourism and Outsourcing

The Philippines is a beautiful country. It offers fantastic island beaches and warm tropical weather. Filipinos are kind and hospitable. Its economy is booming due to ICT (Information & Communications Technology) and outsourcing. Visiting this country will surely be a great experience, be it for leisure or business.

World class ameneties and accommodations are available in its island beach resorts. Proof 1. Proof 2. Proof 3. Action statement.

Warm tropical weather is good for the health. Proof 1. Proof 2. Proof 3. Action statement.

Filipinos are some of the best hosts and most hardworking, highly skilled people across the globe. Proof 1. Proof 2. Proof 3. Action statement.

The Philippines is now the premiere ICT outsourcing hub of the world. Proof 1. Proof 2. Proof 3. Action statement.

...and, the last paragraph would be something like:

Spending the time of your life in this country with your friends and family won't surely be something you'd want to miss. Talk to your travel agents for the best vacation deals. Consult Philippine government agencies to know the contact details of relevant local public and private institutions. Ask advice from local tax lawyers in case you're planning to do business in the Philippines. Doing these will help prevent possible problems and ensure you get the best benefits.

As you can see, the last paragraph has a different format:

Action statement. Tip 1. Tip 2. Tip 3. Action statement.

Basically, A.I.D.A. is used, along with simple sentences formatted this way:

Subject here verb or linking verb here predicate here.

Simpler and quicker to read and understand.

Fundamentally, "softsell marketing writing" is establishing yourself as a friendly expert source of useful information/advice relevant to the needs and problems of your target reader group.

For moneytization, I make sure I have the products/services which can satisfy their demands for useful products/services that can help solve their problems, give them the best value deals, ease their worries, provide them with the best convenience and results, etc. I also make it a point to be sure I'm targeting the right keywords, "buyer keywords", and that I'm syndicating my content on the right online places.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

the secret to any article marketing, whether service or your own product to sell physical or digital..

*make a story that is enticing, emotional, and gives them a call to action...this works most of the time, unless your website has been known to be or full of angry people(like bad reviews)

*for one of my main business sites, I have sold physical products that cost $400 dollars with an article.

Article Marketing in today's competitive world is not just about posting articles to Ezinearticles.com. Its rather a combination of multiple things put in place according to the current trends.

You have to take care of multiple things like Market Research, Product Research, Keyword Research, Landing Page Design, Traffic Generation through Free Traffic Sources.

You will have to write quality SEO optimized articles which are not just for search engines but mainly targeted to provide the glimpse of definite solutions people are actively looking on the Internet.

There are multiple sources where you can post your articles like top ranking article directories , top free press releases, document sharing sites, etc. Convert your article into video and submit it to multiple video sites. Make ebooks and distribute them on ebook sharing websites.

Getting free traffic through article marketing is the culmination of all above things. You need to use them all to get maximum exposure to your content on the internet.

And yes it is very possible to make money through article marketing. But you need to put your consistent efforts and you have to have a patience to see the results which usually takes some time when it comes to earning via article marketing.
