I've just added an animated favicon to one of my Wordpress blogs using Shockingly Simple Favicon (great name huh?) and it was a piece of cake. You just download the plug-in, add it to your media file and then link to it. Voila! Have a look at the first link in my sig. How cool's that?

  • Very nice.

    I've been using this:

    MaxBlogPress Favicon

Not animated, but comes with some canned favicons. I replaced one of the canned ones with my own and then selected it to display.

    • I always just upload my

      favicon.ico

      file into the public_html folder.

Sometimes it takes a day or so to appear, but this has always worked for me...

I have no idea whether this would work with an animated FavIcon. ;-)

      Tink

    • You can say that again, mate! I got one of those on my blog too.

  • I have been using maxblogs in the past but I just tried the shockingly simple one you suggested and it works! Much better than having to go through the whole registering for the maxblog one. Thanks for the tip.
  • Even simple way to do this is to search for favicon link in the header file and replace the file in the theme directory.
