Are your regular visitors screwing up your stats?

I just realized that I have never bookmarked this forum and I do not have it in the drop down of my address bar.

Instead, I get to the forum by using the history drop down in the Google Toolbar, which takes me to google results which I then click on.

If there are hundreds of people doing the same thing, Allen may be getting search stats that are WAY off base for the phrase "Warrior Forum."

What do you all think? Could this be happening to you? If I am doing it, I'm sure others are doing it too.

Many of the statistical softwares will count page views and unique visitors. Some based on IP addresses and browser sessions.

So if you're on the same IP address and visit the site numerous times theres a good chance that it's only going to count you as one visit.

On the other hand if you have dynamic IP addresses through your service provider it may indeed count you as unique visitor every time you visit the site.

      Frank,

I was suspect about the unique vs. returning visitor...but does it count that for the search phrases too? In other words, if I come to the site by searching for "Warrior Forum" and then come to it later using "IM Forum" would it only count my first search term?

Then, what if I used the SAME search term both times.

I'm not trying to be smart, although I might be being unknowingly stupid. Just wondering if I should worry about this much...Allen S. too.

Every day I check the obituaries. If I don't see my name there, then I know it's going to be a good day!
