Google Sites for membership site?

Hi All,

Has anybody ever experimented with creating a membership site using Google Sites?

If you register a domain through google, you are automatically set up to use google sites. Within Google Sites you can post videos, documents, etc and you can restrict who has access to the site.

It seems like this would be a nice template for a membership site- free to set up, easy to add new info - I'm just curious if anyone has tried it out?

    Personally, I would hesitate to do it.

    I want my sites to be under my control as much as possible.

    That means registering my domain myself, and then hosting it with a different company, using an account that I own and control...

    In my personal life, I strive to be easy going and flexible. For my business... it's all about CONTROL.
