Wishlist Member Registration Page

I wonder if someone could help me please.
I have watched all the wishlist member videos telling me how to integrate wishlist member into my website but i cant seem to work out how to do 2 things.
1. Set the registration page. Im confused by the URL you get when you set up a new membership level and although ive watched video 15 over and over i cant seem to work it out. It says its for the 'thank you for registering page'? I've tried to put the code [register_standard] onto my non members page where all users are directed if they try to access members information. It should have a pale yellow box with choices on whether to log in if already a member or register if not. All i get is a form for user name, first name, last name, email address and password with a button that takes you to paypal.
2. Im trying to also set up a protected download so ive set up a membership level but obviously having same problem as above.
