Urgent Domain Register Help Please

Hello fellow warriors, I am having a huge issue with one of the companies that I register domains with. It is a well known reputable company,I do not wish to share names at this time as I hope for a friendly resolution.
So here it is: I purchased a domain name 2 years ago, renewing every year. After my last invoice,I paid it then about 2 months later I wanted to use the domain, which is now and they told me that my domain was not renewed automatically like it should have been and they would talk to the register partner to try and get it back for me.
Todays message now from them was this:
Unfortunately, we have not been successful in backordering the domain.
I am very sorry for this situation and have refunded your PayPal
payment. Additionally, I have placed a $75 credit

I certainly dont want there $75 credit, my domain name is a premium domain name and I feel like they just stole it from me like stealing real-estate.
Please is there anything I can do?
Thank You all in advance for your thoughts and any help or suggestion.

Do you have proof that you renewed the domain before it expired?

If you have documentation of renewing the domain, then it should have been rightfully yours. From the sounds of it, if they are giving you a refund, I would escalate the problem to a manager or until someone could you give a better answer.

From a legal perspective... DON'T use the $75 credit they gave you.

Using it would make any lawyer conclude that you settled the deal.

Yeah it looks like their mistake, from the sounds of things maybe you could complain to a manager or relevant authority? Has the domain been sold on? have you checked? If maybe fat chance of you getting it back, you should check their TOS to see about renewals...

They also did fully refund my paypal account plus gave me the $75 credit at there hosting company, and the last letter from them was from there management. So I am not sure what the next step should be?

It has actually not been sold nor is it available, I did also get a letter from a domainin trust company I guess the hosting companies partner not sure but annyhow they said it will be going up for auction and as I was previous owner I could make the first bid.

All of the above is good advice. DON'T use the $75 or credit, write them an EMAIL about the problem, and try to work it up the chain. Get icann involved. and a 60 day turnaround is VERY short, one wonders exactly what happened. And did you have autorenew set with a valid card?

Due to the short time, obvious intent, etc.... you SHOULD be able to get the name back. Try to have THEM do it, but keep icann in the loop! You might ALSO want to get verisign involved!
