I don't think there is a way around it. He either has to give you his login information, or he'll have to add the buttons himself. I usually just note in the page [INSERT PAYPAL BUTTON HERE] and the client takes it from there.

yea but he doesn't know how to make buttons or I'd have done it this way.

and that is mostly what he is paying me for

      Thanks for your reply.

I was hoping there could be a method to use only his paypal email address to create buttons and paste the code in the site

Yeah I don't think there is a way to get his business or premiere account in a button without him doing it best to just either have him do it and email you the code or put it into the html and text so he can do it with an html editor

You can do this, providing you know their Paypal email address:
TechDevils.com - Create a custom PayPal Shopping Cart Button - TechDevils

However, I wouldn't recommend this method, as it results in a button that has form data that isn't encrypted, meaning site visitors viewing the web page's source code can see the price of the item, email address etc, and possibly alter it if they're smart enough.

Far better is to go for the hosted button route, where your client generates the button in Paypal, and sends you the 1 line code that you need.

Also, when it comes to doing something a bit more advanced i.e. IPN (instant payment notifications) or using the Paypal API, you're going to need his account details at some point anyway to generate API keys etc.

ok you can create a PayPal button without logging into his account, Instead login into your account and create the button then use his paypal email address as the paypal email. This is how i do for my clients and option 2 is to purchase a software called paypal button creator for $12 or more but i sell that on my site for $12 you can search for that.

I hope i have helped you, if you need the code then let me know, i will send the code without any charge from you.
