Directory Submissions - How Do They Do It?

I am really running out of link building ideas so I thought that I would do some directory submissions.

I have not done it because I do not have much faith in directory submission and in the link juice they would give me. Anyway I decided to do it now. It took me about an hour to do 8 submission, signing up, finding the right category, submitting the keywords and the description, it was all very time consuming and mind numbing.

So I thought what if I get somebody to do it for me. I did Google search and lot of directory submission services popped up and for my surprise the prices where around $ 10 for hundred directory submissions completed in 49 hours and they all claimed to be manual submissions.

So I am just wondering how is it possible to do 100 directory submissions manually in 48 hours.

And can somebody recommend any reliable directory submission service I could use.

      I am using Article Marketer for article submission, I was thinking more like regular internet directories where you just list your site with a link and short description.

        I've ranked lots of sites using this method alone. It generally takes 2-4 months to get ranked, but the ranking is more permanent. I think sometimes directories are overlooked, because 2-4 months is longer than they want to wait. Heck, it took me 2-4 years to really start making money, but it sure has been worth it.

    I think you can get a good variety of anchor text and descriptions by manually submitting links. I don't like automated as much as you don't get a chance to view each directory to make sure it is not an especially bad directory.

    Here is a good resource for you to find directories

    I recommend taking 15-30 minutes every few days and over time you'll have some links with good anchor text.
