Here's how to make an unguessable, yet memorable, password

My friend admitted that he uses his dog's name as his main email password.

Don't use your dog's name as a password. Ditto your middle name spelled backwards or something equally easy to guess.

Instead, think up some phrase that contains both letters and numbers. Here's an example:

I have 37 reasons why Google is my nemesis
Now, just group the 1st character from each word together into a password:

Ih37rwGimn
Easy to remember, quick to type, and secure.

Hopefully, you alread know this trick. If not, now you have no reason not to use a strong password.

Good tip - I like it.

I try not to always use the same password everywhere though, so I'm gonna have a few phrases to remember

Years ago, when I was a sysadmin for a very large company, I created a password for a supervisor named Barbara who would do things like stand by the front door at 9am and look at her watch as you walked in at 9:01. Her password? BIAB.

Invest in roboform password manager that also generates strong passwords for you. Really is worth the small cost when you have 70+ different passwords like I do!!

    nice tip Jay.

I usually write them down in a little journal. Its not the safest place, but when you have dozens of passwords, memorizing them all can be a bit difficult
