How do you do mobile marketing?

Hey Warriors,

Mobile marketing....this is what I am hearing will be the next big thing. Google believes that within the next 3 years more people will access the internet via the mobile phone then a desktop.

You can see that Google is positioning it's self to take advantage of this huge market. They say that most of the world still does not have access to the internet and the mobile phone will provide the most logical access to these people.

My question is how to we capitalize on this? How do we implement mobile marketing and profit from it?

    Hey Brandon, I've been wondering about this same question for awhile now, as I have the "mobile plugin" installed on WordPress, but I myself don't know that much about Mobile-Internet Marketing either...

    Hopefully somebody will answer this question for you/us...

          "Mobile Marketing" is already heating up for Real Estate people. Great way to get info INSTANTLY to prospective house buyers while they're sitting in their cars. Comes right to their cell phone. Photos included.

          Plus....here's 3 college guys who started a "Texting Coupon" site last year and now have over 200 businesses paying them a nice Monthly Fee.

    hey,

    I know a few people who have ventured into mobile advertising, they use a website called admob, they have told me that it does work well for some niches and not so well for others, haven't tried it myself but maybe in the future.

    It's easier then you think ! just use google adwords to target some keywords and you can select targeting by device right down to what phone on what network and then make custom mobile text ads and send visitors to your blog (ready with mobile plugin)

    I would think a custom landing page for mobile phones would convert best but to get started try a blog.

    I think Mobile marketing is what really helped Barack Obama to win the presidential election in the United States.

    With mobile marketing you can reach so many people at the shortest possible time because the percentage of people that use mobile/cell phone is far greater than the percentage of people that use PC.

    I have not really thought of using it though.

      The President of the USA uses it to get elected, (I agree, I talked to one of his 'internet consultants') and yet, we don't think of it!

      Any site can be pulled up in a browser, the way the president did it is that his supporters gave his staff their mobile numbers thru an opt-in on his web site. He could then have text messages sent to them.

      So when making an opt-in... I wonder if there was a space (optional maybe) for a mobile device you could also broadcast or AR an email to; would they fill it out? and if so, would they be responsive?

      If yes, then having a landing page designed to eliminate the side scroll most sites have on a phone browser show, might just test to increase mobile buyers!

      Is that how one would go about it?

      This is something I have been involved in for a little while now, there is a discussion forum for people interested in mobile marketing in my signature (exploitmobile.com). Here is a short rundown on some mobile marketing info:

      SMS is one of the biggest fields in mobile marketing at the moment. Getting opt in phone numbers for your business to market to is growing at a rapid pace. You can send your customers messages about news or discounts right to their phone, where they will almost always open and read the message. I think in Japan, mobile coupons are redeemed in over 20% of McDonalds sales.

      Before, mobile websites were only doing well if they werent content heavy (sports scores, drink recipes), but with developments in viewability like the iphone and other smart phones, this is starting to change. You guys mentioned Admob, which is a good site to bring in PPC revenue if you own a mobile site. There is also Google Mobile Ads for this.

      As far as affiliate marketing on mobile phones goes, the only products really doing well at the moment are gambling, adult, iphone apps, and other digital content. We are all really watching where this field will go, bc as you said, the mobile phone is where most people will access the internet from.

      The best thing I can say is follow where Japan and England are going with mobile marketing, and try to follow a similar direction. They are modernized countries that are ahead of the trend, and we all know that staying ahead of the trend makes people rich

      Apprupt (apprupt.com) is a good mobile affiliate network for selling iphone apps on your mobile site or your own iphone app.
