Fraudelent Adsense Clicks - What to do!

Hi

I have just checked my adsense stats for today and it looks like somebody has been franticly clicking on one of my ad units.

One of my channels has 1,616clicks when it would notmaly only have about 40-50.

Even though it shows the clicks in my stats i have not been credited any money for them as the money earned is about what it should be so google has obviously clocked on.

Can somebody please tell me what i have to do in terms of contacting google as i dont want to get banned.

I have looked over the adsense pages and cant find a way to contact them.

Thank you in advance.
Ben Jones

  • Post about it in the Google AdSense forums. The Google team will probably PM you and let you know what to do.

Do you have some IP tracking on your site? If so, see if you can give google the list of Ip's so they can help you possibly track the source of the offending clicker.

If you do not have tracking, please take the time to find one. There are free ones available, and you will get additional information on who is visiting your site.

    Hey Ben

Additionally you could use software that prevents fraud clicks. With this, you can select a maximum number of Adsense ads that each visitor can click on. And it also tracks every visitor's IP address.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve

Thats good to know thank you

nothin like this has happened before.

I just got an automated message after saying it has been noted and they will monitor the account and that i probably wouldn't recieve a reply.

My acount has not been credited with any money for the clicks but now it seems i am not making any money at all.

My earnings have steadily increased all day as always but they have only gone up $1 in the last few hours since this started.

In places like the Philippines, India etc. there are whole rooms full of people sitting at computers and clicking on assigned adsense ads to make money for their employer. This is the 800 pound elephant in the room where click fraud is concerned.

The advertisers who click on a competitors ad repeatedly to burn up his daily budget and knock him off the page are small potatoes compared to professional click fraud organisations.

I still need help or advice with this please.

I have informed google and got an automated reply back.

What has happened though is since this started happening around 12 hours ago my adsense earnings have not gone up at all hardly. or they have gone up then down then up a bit then down an i have made around $2 where it should have been more like $60

Will google correct this or have i lost my days earnings?

Also will it be ok tomorow?

The person who has set the bot up seems to have gone to bed now and given up for the night 3200 clicks later.

I have also replaced that adsense unit with random ads that look similar to adsense so if he does carry on clicking he will just be clicking through to them.

I dont know what to do or what will happen.

    Can somebody please advise
