Having a Members Area

Hey guys, I was wondering how it's possible to create a product and then sell it using wordpress. What I am am wondering is how people create a product and then they get emailed a certain username and password and how those are generated? My website is on WordPress right now...Is there a better way to sell a product but at the same time protect it online? I am looking into releasing a product in the next few months and any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks so much, Andrew.

What do you mean by the username and password? You can easily sell your product with Clickbank- or- much easier with PayPal, but it's less professional. Just set up your buying button, write the salesletter with WordPress and if someone purchases the product he will be redirected to the page with the download.

What you are looking for is called Wishlist member.

It's the easiest membership software that works with WP that I have come across.

There's a WSO for similar product (wordpress membership plugin), cheaper, and support is excellent... the one I am using... I think it was $19.00

It may be kinda cliche, but I really think that amember pro is the best membership script. my site sells digital downloads and everything is displayed and listed through wordpress but then I have amember for the homepage and the registration/member area. members can view each product just like a blog entry but in order to download it they have to log into the site, and to login they have to become a member. it really works out perfectly. but if you do use amember, I recommend changing the templates so that your customers can't tell. it doesn't really matter to some, but i personally think it looks unprofessional when webmasters use the default amember template

These are some great ideas. Since I am newer to this whole thing I think I will try the PayPal button idea. I am going to be making a few videos as my product that would explain step by step what they need to do... and since I have a mac I will be using screen flow to capture my screen. After I have made all of my videos how do I put them together into like a file or something that after they purchase through paypal they can download? Also, is there one type of movie format that plays on almost all computers kind of like a PDF but movie style? Thanks guys!
