    Hi

Landing Page can be done in one page only write up.
Squidoo is a site where you can make landing page with all the info for your product.

Blog is also good place to have a landing page but blog is where you put alot of detail of your product/

Whatever it is, for me i will go for squidoo cause it is to do it and promote.
Google loves it as some of the marketer says

I'm all for blogs. I'm working on one now and am developing a landing page.

Squidoo might be a good option, but I have no experience with it.

Whichever choice seems doable for you right now should be the one to go with. After all, the sky is the limited.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Create a Wordpress Blog, or whatever your comfortable with, and I would create a lens as well with your main keywords, and 3 others to give some link juice and a backlink to your blog. it wouldn't hurt

If you are starting out, I would suggest finding decent keywords that will represent what you are wanting to build a list for.

Make sure it is not overly competitive like "Make Money Online" get creative and maybe go for several long tail keyword phrases.

Then I would rock the Squidoo or Weebly or both and link them "Linkwheel style"

Why? Well starting a brand new blog landing page will sometimes require more link building to it. Also, it will require time to set up.

        (Time is Money my friend).

Don't get me wrong I am not telling you not to make a blog or your own landing page.

I feel that "piggy backing" off of the SEO leverage that Squidoo and Weebly provide can get you top rankings and more opt-ins.

(PLUS, they are really quick to make)!

PLUS, when you decided on your own landing page you can plug it right into the Link wheel action you created.

Also, write some cool Ezine articles to the weebly and squidoo squeeze page and build some pr back links to them.

Most of the time a couple of hundred per page will do and keep you rank depending on your keyword competition.

How many Squidoo pages do you make for your campaigns? I've recently received advice that I should do a minimum of 1 Squidoo lens per keyword phrase for a particular campaign.

Because I advocate promoting your own little piece of the internet , I suggest a static capture page that redirects to a presell then to your affiliate link.

Use Squidoo as a buffer site and your wp blog to promote your landing page as well as your squidoo.

take advantage of article directories . Those that allow one link only goes to your cap page . The ones that allow more than one link goes to cap page...blog...squidoo, in that order .

Remember this is how I do things . Is it the best system.. for me it is ... might be the opposite for you . For me ... everything is just a link that points to my own web property

Yes, I too have been pointing links to Troy's properties, but it does not seem to be working for me.

But my sales sure have went through the proverbial roof .... ummmm I mean this is not an instant gratification approach . If you will continue pointing links to my properties ... in about a year you will see a spike in your own ventures .... I think

Yes I agree. You won't believe how many of those properties have cause me trouble Nowadays almost all my landing pages are on my own domains I fully control.

I used to use squidoo lens for a landing page. It converts well and I average a 40% CTR on them.

But i started using blogger and a basic review style page. I can get up to 60% CTR on those, plus they take less time to set up. Blogger blogs just don't have as many ads as squidoo.

    Just my results.

Hi, appreciate the post. As I sit now I'm creating a landing page. Was considering Squidoo, but not sure now. Can you share an example of a landing page using blogger? Thanks

I would probably rather have a blog as my landing page - even blogspot now you can take all the extra features off that you don't want / need so it can be just a statci page if you want, and that way you don't have links going to other squidoos, or to external adverts etc - everything just points to your affiliate link.

I do like squidoo tho and this it is a good system in terms of ease of use and the different widgets you can create easily - perhaps add one too and do a little backlinking and let that link to your main blog.

You might want to use all three and even add a couple more and do a linkwheel (linking one to the other in a wheel shape). The more site you have online that you can link to articles, the better. That's more presence on the net for you.

I'm a newbie as well, and I think that pages you own are the best solution, and wp is great for this. It's easy to set up and if you have good clean theme you'll get a good ranking and decent conversions.

The main thing to remember is not to give up, don't expect results right away. My first WP is now starting to convert and I put it up a bout a month ago.

Keep doing what you're doing and you will see results. Reading through this forum has helped a lot. I want to thank everyone for their great advice!

Maybe try some good looking landing page?
I have a package of them, read about them at prolandingpages.net

In my opinion most important thing is how does Your site looks, it either earn trust of the visitor, or the visitor has doubts about the author/product itself and simply won't buy something because he's scared that he'll be scammed or something

Everyone is talking about Squidoo and how it is so awesome, I don't know about that.

According to now, I have 7 lenses - 6 of them are about one month old - only one got indexed and is not even showing in the top 1000 results for the keywords I'm aiming(!)
I did what I'm supposed to do and followed all the rules that did get my other pages indexed, but for some reason, with Squidoo it just doesn't work and I've heard I'm not the first it happened to.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't waste my time building a landing page and creating backlinks to it on a site that has very low chances of getting indexed in the first place.

I would create a free WP blog if you have a hosting account that has Fantastico Deluxe. Get Jeff Johnson's free traffic plugin for traffic. It works

Your best bet is ALWAYS to develop your own website with your own domain. That way you have total control over the layout and content and are not subject to changing rules of the web 2 properties. Register a domain name, get a free web host that includes easy installation of WordPress, full cPanel, 24/7 customer support.

I can't tell you how many times I have had pages removed from squidoo, knoll and hubpages, because of some rule change on these sites. But because they are not my main/money sites, my business continues with very little impact.

You can use squidoo, hubpages and other web 2 sites for creating backlinks to your site, which in turn will increase your rankings in the search engines. Use various other methods for driving traffic such as video, podcasts, document sharing sites, forum postings, building backlinks, paid advertising, social networking sites (twitter, facebook, etc.), etc. There is tons of information about each of these traffic techniques in this great forum.

Finally, while you are at it, do what you can to start building a mailing list by giving something free to entice people to sign-up. That way you can sell other products to the same visitors instead of constantly having to attract new visitors to your site.

Affiliate marketing takes time, so keep at it and don't give up. Assuming that you choose a good market and the right products to promote you will eventually be rewarded.

    Good luck!

I think some people are confusing a site which is designed to rank in serps with a landing page.

For me a landing page is something I direct traffic to like a air traffic controller directs traffic to an air field.

This traffic may come from paid advertising or links in articles or something similar, for me a landing page is not something that's specially aimed at getting search engine rankings.

Since you said you are just starting out, I would certainly go for the landing page or squeeze page. Mix in a little bit of article marketing and whatnot, and I think you'll be on the right track.

Looks like you are at no shortage of answers and outlooks on this, I would say take you main key phrase, domain it, host it, and give them what they want in the first sentence or lose them!! Wordpress is so good for this, I like Wordpress where you get much needed plug ins for seo and what not.

Squidoo works but I'm always scratching my head with those people, never know what they will do with your page one way or the other! Don't have to worry about that with Wordpress!

If you are not building and linking to your own domain you are at the mercy of others and their fickle ways. There appears to have been a recent squidoo slap . Many people built their business on squidoo lenses because of their authority with the search engines. These people now have serious problems. Fundamental principle of business is to stay in control.Build on property you own.
    All the best,
