Facebook Fan Pages Advice Please.

Ok so...

I want to setup a page on Facebook to represent a website I'm creating.

I want the Facebook URL to be simple like

http:// ww.facebook.com/myrandomnamehere

A Bit like these guys have here

http://w ww.facebook.com/Bodybuildingcom

But when I go and try and create my URL facebook gives me a great long ugly URL like a personal page instead.

http://www.facebo ok.com/pages/hereisatestsite/10150129323640294

instead of

http://w ww.facebook.com/hereisatestsite

Where am I screwing this up ?

    They will do away with that number once you hit 1000 followers. (I think). I have some pages that are from 7k to 20k and they are like the bodybuilder one.

    I have some from 70 to 500 that have facebook/fanpage/8743533 schematic. I heard threshold was 1000. I haven't found documentation to back it up I am sure it is in the help somewhere on Facebook.

    On reading your coments, it put me in the right direction.

    It looks like it's jumped from 1000 to 25 and now to 100.

    Apparently you need to manually apply for each account as well.

    Pain in the ass.

      Ahh cool, that sounds right. The pages with the high count I had to validate when Facebook gave everyone the option to create a vanity profile address awhile back ago. They let you also assign names to pages you owned then as well during that time. I bet you have to do it manually like you said now. Cool I will have to register the others. Thank you for the feedback as well!!
