Stop procrastinating! What are your income goals for the next 3 months?

Hi, I've only posted here 5 times or so, so I don't know many of you that well. But since this is a very highly trafficked forum, I thought it would be the perfect place for this.

Here's the situation: all my life I've set goals in every area of my life (business, fitness, sports, etc), but up until this point I've only achieved 1 of them.

The reason?

Lack of clarity--my goals have never been specific enough to encourage action. All the results I've gotten to this point have been completely random--I've gone years without seeing significant improvement in any area.

As a perfect example, I've had an online business for the past 4 years... but right now I'm only earning $30/day. And I've been at this mark for the past 12 months.

I've jumped from 1 income strategy to the next... but due to a lack of focus I've never seen any real progress with any of them.

Anyway, I'm tired of the status quo. So here's my goal--I'm going to earn $130/day by June 8. I picked this date because it's almost exactly 3 months from now.

I prefer short term goals because they require immediate action. I've tried setting 5 and 10 year goals but they are so far in the future that I end up forgetting about them completely.

My method will be using Google Adwords advertising to promote affiliate products.

I know there are plenty of better strategies to make money. But instead of jumping from 1 strategy to another until I find that PERFECT one, I need to stay focused on 1 thing until I make it work.

I will be reporting on my progress 1/week--I figure this will be the kick in the butt I need to take action and stay on target with my goals. If I crash and burn, you will ALL know about it.

But lest you think this post is entirely about me...

I know there are plenty others in my situation--you know every strategy to make money under the sun but your income is stagnant or decreasing.

I really believe the reason for this in every instance is because of a lack of clear goals and accountability for achieving them. Most of us on here know more than enough to earn 6 figures a year--our problem is not staying focused and making it happen.

So let's change that: what are your income goals for the next 3-6 months? Do you want to join me in reporting on your progress?

If there's enough interest, maybe we could start a mastermind group. But this post is ONLY for those who are tired of the status quo and ready to change it. Either way, I will still report here every Monday for updates on my progress.

Well, unfortunately you won't be able to report your progress here - that would be considered a "follow me" thread which are not allowed.

But you are right that setting goals is very important.

I'd like to tell you I'm sure there are a lot of people who would be into starting a mastermind group or accountability group.

(I'm going to pm something for you to look at - not my product and I get no commission from recommending - just something that might help you along with this)

Having a good support group is important and will definitely help you get there.

I think it's good too that you have broken your goals down to the next 3 months. Taking things in small chunks is more palatable then saying "I'm going to make 60k this year" and then stopping there without further breakdown of how you'll get there.

In the next 3 months I'll be adding several more income streams (pushing for a new one every 4 days right now) and looking to increase my current monthly earnings.

After that period, I'll take a break, analyze what is working and what is not, and figure out what direction to take on from there.

I actually like to plot this stuff out on a calendar.

Right now I know if I keep up my pace I'll have 22 new products/campaigns in the works and lots of data to look at.

Of course, this just adds to things that are already working for me.

Do yourself a favor, and start a daily blog for yourself and commit to reporting on it once a day to your progress. You can post under an anonymous name, and you don't have to sell anything on it - just use it to keep yourself accountable.

You'll be able to look at it a week from now and ask yourself what the heck you did on certain days. It will become very clear if you are wasting time and getting sidetracked.

Thanks for all the helpful responses and sorry for the late response. Slin, thanks for posting your goal as well.

Bummer about the "follow me" thread rule... but if anyone is interested in starting a mastermind group let me know.

I'm more interested in the accountability aspect than the ideas. I have all the ideas in the world, I just need to stay focused!

Anyway, if any of you know of such a group I'd appreciate the feedback. I'd really like somebody to report to on a weekly basis if possible. Also if anyone is interested in starting a similar group let me know.
