Which is better Google Checkout, Paypal or something else?

I would like some feedback on what people use as payment gateways and why.....do some result in higher transaction conversions (such as Google).

Read some threads how Paypal appears to misbehave....I would just like to get it right the first time and move on, those of you who have been doing this for awhile will have figured out the safest place with the least hassle by now.

Thanks

I agree with Miss Terrack, PayPal is just so easy to use if your needs are basic.
I have never had a problem with them and I think the problems are few and far between..

Paypal is most popular one. And the ease of use is why it is so........

Another vote for Paypal. Quick, easy, popular and easily understood by the majority of people.

I think Paypal is more universally used by buyers, so Paypal would be my choice.

People trust Paypal. Whenever I've offered different options pretty much everyone has gone through Paypal. It's not perfect. Paypal customer service is non existant. If you're selling intangilbe goods you're going to be ripped off and Paypal will happy refund those ripping you off.

For my niche (offline gold/brick and mortar business owners) Paypal doesn't have the level of credibility that internet info buyers feel. Business owners sort of look down on Paypal or don't trust it for whatever reason. I've tried to get several of my offline clients to pay their monthly hosting/maintenance fees through Paypal and they just refuse.

So I'm looking for an alternative now. Thinking of Google Checkout. I need something that will easily integrate with WHMCS. I will only have maybe 8 or 10 products, plus the need for recurring payments. What's everyone's thoughts on the way to go for this?

    Thanks in advance

yep I can agree with you that paypal sometime misbehave but that's what every big company do. But I still love paypal and will vote for it because there is no matching for the service it provides.

I've used Paypal for a long while now with no problems. Not sure about Google checkout.

Yet another vote for PayPal, mainly because it's what everyone uses. I've fiddled with moneybookers as well. Worked fine, just not as popular.

PayPal is great for some business. My clients with $200,000 + per month prefer a traditional merchant account.
