indexed, than deindexed the same day?

hey guys,

i just put up a new page to my website the other day and finally it was indexed today and then i just checked about 7 hours later and it had been deindexed.

so my question is this,

is this common and is it normal? There is no reason why google should have to deindex it. No copyright, nothing like that.

    Googledance perhaps? Google at the moment is soooo unreliable. We have client results all over the place in one day.

      perhaps. my pages often dance but it's rare that they get deindexed. Maybe i built too many links too quick?

        Is it really deindexed or just not where it was the last time you looked?

        Did you do a site:yourdomain.com search?

          pretty sure its deindexed. its a page on my site and i typed in the url and it did not return a result

            I wouldn't worry about it too much.

            Every time you log on to Google you have the chance of connecting to a different data centre. And until ALL the data centres have picked up your site, things are pretty hit and miss.

            So just give it time until your site propagates through all of Google's data centres, and then then prepare to do the dance until your site sits where they think it should.

            And back off back linking until then. IMO, too much back linking right at the beginning can be detrimental.

    Yeah, IMO it is normal. Just be patient and add content, backlink, etc ...
