Video Hosting for Advertising and Infomercials...

Hey Everybody,

I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations for a place to host videos and infomercials that I want to create this year for my various websites.

Many of the more popular hosting sites are quite emphatic about not having any advertising related content on their sites.

I've investigated Amazon's Web Services S3 service but I'm turned off by the amount of technical implementation. If I've going to do the technical work, I'll do it on my sites, not on a back end system like that.

So who offers a great reliable hosting package for large amounts of video, free or paid?

I've noticed a lot of people using Viddler, especially Justin Brooke. With the professional version you can brand it however you want, so it'd look exactly like you're the one hosting the videos, and it seems pretty reliable.

    Good luck finding a solution.

S3 costs about 20 times what self-hosting on an economy
host will cost you, by the minute streamed. Its advantage
is in launches where the pipe must be huge for short periods
    of time.

Web Hosting by PowWeb - One Plan, One Price offers unlimited bandwidth very
cheap. It's friendly to video as well. Don't laugh, because
I'm not joking. This is easy and cheap to do - no S3
    required for day-to-day video.

You can use Viddler of course, but just like YouTube you
have no control over the pipe, compression settings
and buffering. What this means is that when you use
a free host your videos will stop and buffer. They won't
always do it but often they will. You have no control
    over it.

Self hosting on an economy host with videos rendered
to under 256kbps with a 3-5 second buffer on the .FLV
resolves almost all problems in delivering smooth-playing
direct-response videos enjoyable by visitors on both fast
and slower connections: ie. wireless cafes.
