Are Hub pages and Blogspot still worth my time

I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time with free websites like Hub Pages and Blog spot. I've developed about 6 blog micro-niche sites and it's been a month now and no indexing from the search engines. I've pinged them and have placed posts on forums for back links. As well, I'm starting to write articles. Should I just stick to regular domains or can money be made on these free sites.

    I would build my own site up or use EZA. What are you trying to accomplish? Backlinks and/or traffic?

      Money can be made with the freebie sites but I prefer to use those types of sites to build backlinks to my own domains.

        I use sites like Hubpages / Squidoo to generate traffic to my money pages (which are of course hosted on my own domain).

        You can use re-written versions of content that you already have on your other domains.

        To generate traffic from the search engines, make sure you have a highly targeted, long-tail keyword that can be found in the search engines and build backlinks to the site (just what you said you're doing). I get especially good results with Squidoo.

        To get traffic from the community, make sure you connect with other people in the same niche, provide valuable content and an attention grabbing headline to draw people in. Also use photos and video to break up your content for people who are just scanning, not reading.

        You can of course also use these sites to build new links to your other sites, videos and RSS feeds.

        All in all, monitor how much time/money you spend - if you get good results but spending too much time, consider getting someone to help you do it (a VA, your niece, your mum, etc).

      I would like to make money from adsense and from Click Bank and Amazon. I realize I need backlinks for authority and eventually I will get traffic.

    I would always recommend your own domain over a freebie domain, it used to be that they were easier to rank, but this doesn't seem to be so anymore - with your own domain, and your own website / brand you look a lot more professional, and obviously you have total freedom and control to build the site how you like, with the added benefit of having the outbound links to your products / affiliate links rather than hubpages advertising etc.

    I think that they are worthy of the time spent on them.

    I made my first income online which was about $3000 in one month from a free blogspot blog.

    Afterwards, I decide to buy my own domains but it added nothing to my income.

    On one of my trips I came across this amazing blogspot blog

    makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com/

    This blog enjoys an Alexa Rank of 21.ooo
    It also ranks on the first page for many "make money" keywords.

    The guy explains how he managed to achieve these results on his blog. I used the same techniques in starting one of my blogs. It is still new but I am sure I can get at least close to where he is.
