Seeking Suggestion, Tiny list from Free Recipe

Hey Warriors,

I was giving away a free recipe, a meatball one, and I am getting a lead or 2 a day, i think there is 20+ people that have opted in, and I am having a hard time finding something to promote OTHER than a cookbook.

Any Suggestions?

This was a test I was doing... figure I'll see if I can make some extra change.

Thanks
Carlo

You can promote crockpots, other kitchen appliances, picnic ideas, maybe even a diet.

Congrats - you have found a system that works. Now, what you need to do is see if you can grow that - either by generating more traffic to your existing site or setting up a couple of other similar sites.

I wouldn't mail them any offers quite yet - you need to build a little bit of a relationship with your subscribers, build a little trust with them.

Here is how you do that -

Every 2 or 3 days send them another recipe - start the email something like this - "Hi - I hope you enjoyed the last recipe, here are a couple more I thought you might like .."

Ok - do that for a couple of weeks and then you should be ready -

      options then are:

#1 - Find some clickbank products
#2 - See if there are any products you can buy the Reprint Rights to
#3 - continue to build your site out - add articles and more recipes and either develop your own product or sell affiliate products.

That email can be something like this: Hello, I hope you have been enjoying the recipes I have shared with you the last couple of weeks.

I just came across this amazing new (insert product) that I thought you might enjoy - Take a look HERE - I think you will like it...

After that - I would say 1 or 2 times a week mail the list - make sure to continue to include some free recipes to keep the subscribers reading your emails.

      Good Luck

        Hey Everyone!

Thanks for all the great suggestions.... I am not used to the cooking type of niche....

I like the idea of promoting slow cookers.. pots and that kinda stuff..

Definitely will make a few videos and add some tasty pictures..

I just increased my traffic by 60% or something...was getting 300-400 I htink I'll hit 1000 uniques this month.

The Opt-In rate is horrible though, as I am making people opt in for a free recipe... I wonder what I could do to increase this? perhaps a full cookbook instead for free?

Thanks for everything... Now just wish I had more time, as this is/was just a test... a test that is giving me decent traffic for free.

        Carlo,

    Hi Carlo,

With your list it would be a great idea to offer a weekly recipe. Give your reading something to look forward to week after week and do it around the same time. This will create branding and keep your list active. You can then inside that email or on your blog sell them your recipe book, amazon cooking tools (pots, pans etc.) maybe things you have already used and like as a recommended resource to use.

    Hey Carlo

I like your cookbook idea. Why dont you start making online Videos on YouTube by actually SHOWING people what great recipes they can make? I know lots of people who promote their cookbooks that way. Besides, if you can SEE what it looks like, everybody always gets hungry

One very profitable source could be public domain material. This is old books etc that no longer have copywright. A market like cookery is ideal as recipes don't change that much - if they do they're interesting for other reasons.

I just checked out project gutenberg - Main Page - Gutenberg
    Did a search on recipe
And found 21 books you can plunder use, reuse etc.

If the meatballs are especially delicious, maybe your next offer should be a weight loss plan. But make sure it's about exercise, not about giving up meatballs!

Haha, Definitely don't want them to give up meatballs, adn yes they are especially delicious

You don't want to promote a cookbook? It seems as though if your list opted in for a recipe then they'd like more recipes. I just grabbed 11,000 PLR recipes for $.93 last night and if I had a list to promote to like that I'd do it. Instead its going to be packaged as a free bonus for one of my products. I'd have a variety of options to promote to them after you've built a list like you have.
I will promote some recipes for sure, and maybe make a Unique pdf recipe book (my mom and grandmas recipes of course) Just looking outside of the box as well to see what else there might be.

Nice grab on the PLR recipes, I'll have to keep my eye open.

      Thanks

Recipes! There is so much free stuff out there I would make sure your content is sticky, relevant and your recipes work. Build a following and try to upsell to extra products or useful stuff in the kitchen. Just some thoughts!
