This goes out to anyone out there that uses Market Samurai. How accurate is it? Is the color coded matrix that helpful? What do you use for keyword research?

MS is probably the best for KW research, along with Micro Niche Finder. Both have pro and cons, but both are very good.

I use it all the time as a warm/cold tool. Also use it to only post on blogs with highest PR. Seems to work as I have gotten many top 3 spots using that technique within a couple days. More importantly, I have gotten BUYERS from those top blog PR rankings, much more than the top 3 spots will give me in google.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

Could you elaborate on that John (or someone else try to explain it further)? What do you mean by a warm/cold tool? How do you post to high PR blogs? Also, do you mean you've made many sales from commenting on blogs with top pageranks?

I'm a pretty new MS user and have only used it so far for keyword research and seo analysis. It's a brilliant user-friendly tool for a good price.

I use MS all the time. I like it alot and I like the fact that you can work on so many different things. Finding content, making ads, keyword research, SEO competition. I also like the feature where I can put in my own url and see how I stack up against the first page competition for certain keywords, basically MS is worth the money. I also have Keyword Elite, but I dont use it half as much as I use MS.

I really like the Google Keyword tool for ripping keywords from competitors, or authority sites, but Market Samurai is great for the analysis.

Sometimes it runs a little slow, but I like it enough to have shelled out for a license for each of my employees.

I've never used micro niche finder, so I can't offer any advice on that.

    Good luck.

Market Samurai swipes information from Google databases. So it is as accurate as the information Google offers us. And we can't ever know how close to the real truth Google is telling us (there's lots of theories out there about how truthful it is).

That's why it's great to test for yourself.

I've used Market Samurai from it's inception. I do know the people behind it, so I am a fan, because I know they are legitimate people with true intentions.

And it also gives me keyword information that, yes I can find manually - but a click of a button is so much better.

It is also much more than just a keyword tool too.

Anyway as I said I am a fan - of the tool, of the people behind it. I've used it and it works well for me. I teach using it, I also have recommended it to others, without getting any affiliate commission previously (that will change as I've now become an affiliate).

    Best

    Caro :-)

Coincidentally, I downloaded it for a test drive last night. It continually failed to process keyword competition figures saying it was unable to get them, please try later. It was able to populate all of the other columns.

I hit their forum and found a solution about toggling the proxy settings, but it didn't help. I ended up giving up and going to bed.

Tried again today and the same problem. I uninstalled it and I'm moving on to try the next thing on my list.

I love MS! Been a user for around 6 months now. The color coded matrix helps alot when picking keywords. When I used to do keyword research manually, assessing the competition's strength was a lot of guesswork. Now it's a click of a mouse! My article traffic has definitely increased since using it, so I know it's giving me good info.

@lisag: You need to make sure you do the captcha when it asks for it, if you fail to do so, sometimes google times you out because you making to many inquires, atleast that is what I think it means.

I did do the captchas, three of them I think. However, later when I went to Google directly it did ask me to "prove I was human" before I could do a search.

I just went back to MS and attended some of the Dojo classes. Maybe I'll give it another try. I really wanted to like it. I was frustrated because the one thing I had downloaded MS for was the one thing I wasn't getting. So to punish it, I uninstalled it :-)

Yeah if you hit MS too many times, you get the 'time out' and have to go to the corner of the room.

They're really just communicating what Google are saying.

With MS it's recommended that you refine your list of keywords before going to the next stage of analysis and looking at SEOC numbers.

As 200 is a big whack to make on Google - and if you do that a few times - Google puts Baby in the Corner (I hate that! :-) ).

I think MS has some great videos all about that in their Knowledgebase. The guys did if for us for the 30DC, explaining how to work with the tool so it works for you.

          Caro :-)

Hmmm; I'm beginning to see where this may have been all my fault. A little 'rtfm' may have saved me a lot of aggravation before I finally threw in the towel at 4:40 AM and went to bed.

Again it's just swiping information that is already there. It is not making up the information.

With backlinks - it can be hard to get an exact fix on numbers - as they seem to change.

However you can certainly get a feel for the magnitude of them.

The color coding is really for newbies in many ways - this tool was originally designed for the 30DC - and it's a simplistic way to gauge - green is good, amber is closer to red etc.

However it is practice and experience that will help you understand and know how to read the matrix.

You can go through each of the elements yourself manually - to see what you find - and generally you will see a match.

Remember Google has several data centers - and each data center can display different information. So it's important to not get hung up with any tool on the actuals.

I think the thing to remember with Market Samurai - is that it is swiping the information that Google is already giving us. It's not making it up at all.

So you can not get any more exact than what Google is telling us (we just don't know if they are telling us everything - and how would we ever?)

    Caro :-)

I use market samurai to get my daily dose of raw information on my websites and competition in the search engines. It would take forever to do it myself, I don't really use the keyword research functions.

OMG I LOVE MARKET SAMURAI! It's awesome for everything...I'm not sure what 'cons' there are. I've been using it for a while now and it tells me everything I need to know, plus the guys are always updating it and doing little fun stuff with it.

I'm with Deezy, I can't use anything but MS anymore.

And they have a Dojo where they school you on awesome ways to use it.

GOOD keyword research used to be SO painful....not anymore!

How do you post to high PR blogs?

By this, I think he means he leaves his links through comments only on high PR blogs. I think you can do this by clicking the 'analyze anchor text' of a particular site that is within the top ten in google. The PR of the backlink sources are shown in the results. So, you just go to the sources with high PR.

While I initially bought it as a keyword research tool, I'm finding, lately, that just working directly in the Google Keyword Tool is easier and more intuitive than any third-party software out there (not to mention faster).

Right now, I use it mainly as a glorified rank checker- at least once a day.

As for the other modules included in MS, I haven't had much time to fully explore them- although, I eagerly await the release of the PPC module. Their "Coming Soon" graphic has been teasing me for nearly a year.

It's a great keyword researching software, but you still have to confirm it with Google itself to verify the findings.

I've done my research manually and I have done it with Market Samurai, and to be honest, I couldn't live without MS. I mean, off course, you can take the long route and do it all yourself, but the way MS works it really is a time saver. The only thing I need to do manually after that is checking for domainnames. They really should include that feature (maybe if enough people ask for it, you never know).

Plus, creating blog posts, banners or side widgets around products you want to promote is just a timesaver. I run MS every day and couldn't go without it as I would have to work at least double hours.

OK, I found the place where I can post to my blogs...but don't know about creating banners/widgets with MS.

Please tell me where to find them.

You do that in the promotion module. Search for a product to promote, then you can create a post/widget/banner with it.
