And mess your health up as a result?

Why do people think working till late will help them succeed?

I would be smart - take care of your health first.

In the beginning, that may be the only time they have to work on their business
because they probably have a job.

Also, from what I've learned about self-made millionaires is that while they were
in the hunt to millionaire status, they usually worked between 60 and 80 hours per week.

        Many probably still do.

Also, I have learned that such millionaires live on drugs because life has got no substitute or duplicate. And they are afraid to die because some of them have died because they didn't really care about their health.

Working hard is good but you just have to be wise and apply discretion. I so much believe in moderation in everything you do.

Point taken but why put your body through so much "work" when you can enjoy working less hours, and still making more?

This is where outsourcing comes into play.

Of course hard work is essential but never neglect your health.

I would not work and look like an unhealthy wreck by the time I am 40.

          Health comes first.

Too many people become obsessed with making money and then realise their health is suffering.

It doesn't bother me. It used to make me feel like giving up when people made negative comments or tried to shoot down my dreams.

It's funny because my dad still thinks I'm wasting my time and I've been making six figures a year for many years now.

Who cares what other people think. Now negative comments just give me more fuel and help me reach higher.

I hear you Nikki, my dad is just the same. He used to make me livid with his negativity, telling me I ought to get a REAL job - LOL. Strangely enough the real job he refers to earned me considerably less.

Like you I ave learned to shut out the naysayers and surround myself with positive people instead - people who have dreams, visions and are not afraid to make mistakes in order to move ahead in life.

The day will come when I drive out of town with a brand new caravan, a big ass car and my hubby and birds in tow to live the ultimate dream of a digital nomad. I will happily look those naysayers in the eye then and say "I told you so."

When I first got started it took me 2 years to get anywhere. My wife supported me but I know she had her doubts. Her family would ask me what I am doing online and would just look at me like a bum. When people I just met ask me what I did for a living I told them a they looked at me like I was crazy. There were times when I even doubted myself. I had moments where I wanted to pull my hair out and just give up. BUT I had a goal and I was going to reach it. It was $200 smackers a day! That was my goal. I knew the bar was set high but that is how I work.

It wasn't until I found this forum when all the information my brain was absorbing the last 2 years finally clicked! I hit my goal and even exceeded it. Now, when people ask what I do and they don't understand I don't care. I know what I do and what I make. I don't tell anyone what I make exactly but I feel confident now when I tell people what I do.

So, there is a lesson here. Never give up! There is a learning curve with internet marketing but what career doesn't have one. When you go to college you have to study for 4 years to get that little piece of paper. This took me only 2 years. I wouldn't trade any of the heartache, disappointment, or struggle for nothing in the world because I appreciate it more and don't take anything for-granted.

    Yes.

As some of the previous posters have said, it can be difficult to get people to take what you're doing seriously, even if you are making money.

It's an business that most people don't understand.

All they see is that you're at home, sitting in front of a computer all day long.

Many people find it hard to grasp that you are in-fact working and not facebooking or playing WOW all day long.

It's a similar issues that many writers face, especially if they haven't been published yet.

      Like Deezy,

I've faced a LOT of doubt and criticism from family and friends.

      And here's the kicker...

Recently, a family member who was the most skeptical of them
all asked me about MY business and what I do to make...well,
let's just say I make 4-5x more in a week than what I made at
      a 9 to 5 in 2 weeks (a pay period).

      Go figure

It only took 2-3 years of hard work and alot of mental adjustment
changes (from 9 to 5 and paycheck mentality to "anything's
      possible" mentality)

I'm celebrating our success, wealth, health and families by going
tantem sky-diving next month, who's with me? (don't everybody
      raise their hands at once)

My hand is raised, respect to the skydiver.

All of my friends and family doubted me to the point where I just stopped talking about it. I still have the 9 -5 but hopefully not for too much longer.

To be honest I still don't talk about it much. People don't understand, even though I'm making money they can't grasp the concept of what I'm doing and when I talk about potential future earnings they think I'm off with the fairies.

I don't care about their opinions, if I did I'd have given up ages ago but it is easier not talk about it. I find myself trying to justify what I'm attepmting to do and I can't be bothered with it anymore. This may change when I leave work but for now I just keep it to myself.

    Tell me about it.

I live in a country where the Internet is not in the mainstream. This means that people rarely look at the Internet as a means for marketing products and services which is a plus for me actually. People are taught here to study so they can get jobs and then depend on their job's salary for the rest of their lives. They always tell me that what I am doing is futile because it is not as "sure" as having a day job. So you can see how twisted people's minds are in here.

What I do when people doubt my efforts is to strive more. I strive to prove that they are wrong. And perhaps you can guess how surprised they are when I receive my money last year. They cannot believe it was actually possible.

My twin brother doubts me but he is beginning to believe me.

    A Piece of Advice
: Just fight on till you prove your critics wrong. Never ever give up - that's the spirit irrespective of doubts and criticisms from people around you.

In fact, the major reason why you should even try and keep trying till you make your dream a reality is because some people doubt your dream - they see you as a lazy fool. So, why not prove them wrong.

P.S.: One thing I hate so much is someone calling me a FOOL. So, I always try to show that I have taken the wisest decision, done the wisest thing, followed the wisest people, etc.

People doubt what they do not understand. Many of them, if not all of them, can only think
as far as their own personal self image, then they impose their doubts about their own
      abilities on you.

      Use it as motivation.

My family still doesn't really get what I do all that much.

But what they do know is my wife hasn't worked a day since July of 2006, gets to stay
home and raise our 3 babies, drives a balla-ass (TM Chappelle Show) $53,000 SUV
loaded to the max, and is about to buy a house bigger than everyone who doubted in
      the first place

Just make proving them wrong one of your goals. Make it a burning desire.

That's funny! Whenever somebody does something a little outside the box, something abit out of whack from mainstream with the prospect of getting AHEAD ... people get jealous. Do you know why? Because they themselves would LOVE to be able to do it but they either dont have the skills/motivation/drive to do it or just cant.

Happened to me as well but you know what? I dont give a damn
