There is program out there that helps you auto follow followers of a certain tweeter, those that you follow in turn follows you back.

So within a few days you can probably get 2k to 3k viewers, using this method I've gathered about 500+ followers without doing anything.

Probably won't work well with twit marketing but imagine if you tweet your own website so well that they are curious enough to click it?

That would be mostly junk traffic. Sort of like building up an unresponsive list. Would be best to create an identity or reputation and naturally have people interested in you and willingly following you just because they want to know what you can offer them.

I never liked just blindly following strangers whom I have no connection to. Not really sure how it benefits me.

LOL - I made approximately $15,000 between September 2008 and December 2009 with one site selling a physical product virtually ONLY through Twitter and Facebook...it definitely has it's applications!

I often feel the same way... sometimes a lot of the social media sites out there are just too confusing to use and even more confusing when you try to make money on them.

Just have to take it slow and read up on the different strategies. Since you're a member of the war room, there's a nice little free ebook on twitter marketing. It explains the power of twitter. There's a post written by hebsgaard on that forum that has a free download link to an awesome "Twitter Strategy" report that is definitely worth checking out.

While i personally hate using social media sites for my businesses, (hate hate hate them! they're not the easiest things to learn to use) using them is without a doubt necessary. Twitter is basically a micro-blog. A blog where your'e limited to only 140 characters but unlimited in teh amount of times you can tweet or post. If you sit down and think about it, it's a really awesome system in terms of social communication.

I once had several thousand visitors when one of my followers did a tweet on my blog. Didn't make any money from it

, but it was definitely cool!

And then come the streams of Spam.

I wonder if the Twits actually think any of this is even remotely interesting?

What I don't get is these people who follow me - then unfollow me
if I don't follow them back immediately... then follow me again
when I get around to looking at their tweets and deciding if
I want to read what they have to say, then those who I follow -
some of them - unfollow me anyway.

What the heck? Are these people nuts? What's their criteria
for worthwhile investment of time?

I have to agree that twitter does have a lot of people that use it for stupidity... I agree with someone else who said singers and actors using it to promote their stuff. Just think in 140 characters they can easily say, Go See my New Movie,...bla bla bla, or My new CD is in stores now, Get an autographed poster, first 1000 ppl. And so on... It is easy promotion without the need to constantly involve a Publicist. It is also another way of staying close to fans, who for some STRANGE reason really care about when a famous person goes to the bathroom....urgh..

Anyhow,,, as for us entrepreneurs, if you choose your followers properly, you can definitely increase traffic and the potential to make more sales and money... Just remember the reason you are there for, to make money.

I kind of like twitter because I find it very casual. I don't get much minutia, but do get too much overt selling of the tweeter's product or website. However, I think that connecting with people is a good thing. We should be doing more.

I gave up twitter a few weeks ago.I was promoting CPA on my site and i got about 1k visitors from twitter in 2 days but no conversion.It's not worth it.

Hey I am off to get a sandwich right now. Actually it is a leftover from last night from a restaurant I ate at. It is a chicken cheesestake with extra mushrooms. It is also my first meal of the day as I got carried away doing IM stuff.
It also has some sweet potato fries with it. They have some remoulade sauce with them kinda orange pink - good stuff.
Now about the bun its kinda soft and squishy but......
