whats the rule on swear words on a domain?

just curious to know, if you wanted to register a domain name with a nasty word on it... Weird request from a client!

    Depends on the niche.

Childrens sites selling prams and dummies (pacifiers) would get a bad rap, adult humour sites wouldn't even get a problem.

Just so you know, www.****you.com is taken. Apparently it's a forum with a lot of users. I just visited and it hurt my eyes.

On Tumblr there's a long list of blogs named f-yeah and then their subject, although with the word in question spelled out.

the largest draw back i could see would be not being able to get backlinks from many sites that censor the word.

also you would get nothing from search engines' suggest

the google keyword tool wont let you look up some of those words but there are adwords adds when you search for them so i guess you can purchase traffic for them

never thought about it much before just now
