Video Squeeze Pages that automatically play video

Today there are many video squeeze pages that include a video talking about the product or opportunity.

For better conversations, is it better to have a the video automatically play the video or is it better to have the user click on the play button?

For example, I have a video squeeze page at Video Squeeze Page

From your experience, would it be better not to have the video automatically play the video?

I think there are different schools of thought, or opinion. But
from a strictly bottom-line perspective, maybe take a clue from
    Frank Kern's video squeezes.

I saw one today, his latest promotion I suppose.

The video starts automatically, but the controls are hidden and
appear with a mouseover. So it's not obvious that you have control,
but it's there if you want it and realize it's there.

I've read here in the forum that conversions increase with auto
start and no control. I've also read some comments that people
don't like that because there's no control. For me, I like having
the control panel there, and I do not like it when it auto-starts.

So... obviously people have different tastes and preferences, and
you won't be able to please everyone.

Perhaps do what Frank does. And you can always just test with
your market. If it's non-IM market, maybe better to test. I wouldn't
be at all surprised if there are markets with different preferences as
    verified with testing and conversions.

I personally like auto play videos for the i.m. miche but as Ken said above me, everyone has different preferences. You will just have to split test. Set up the video squeeze page and let it run. Then set up a regular squeezer and let each run for about a week each. Once the two weeks are up check them out and find which one has the most click through, conversions, etc. Then use the one with the most. This industry is all about testing.

Oh, and Frank Kern is said to be somewhat of a genius so just take some notes from him.

Google if you are using adwords is cracking down on that also...they are dumping accounts due to autoplay. You can really notice it within some of the heavy hitter mlm captures. They are not autoplaying.

I don't mind autoplay the first time I bring up a site, but if I leave it in a tab to consider it again tomorrow or the next day, I don't want it autoplaying again every time I launch the browser. I for one will just delete it and never go look again. Also if a video fails to load completely and there are no transport controls for the reload, I will also delete and flag it. I consider those who value my time so lowly, unworthy of any of my hard earned money.

And, I forgot to mention, if I get several of those from any 1 marketer, I will very likely unsubscribe from their list.

  • I loathe not having controls on the videos. I dislike autoplay too, but I guess it works so we'll have to settle for that one.

I think automatic vidoes are great! But the viewer should be able to play/pause.. There are some vidos that don't allow the user to do that..
That sucks.. And the time must be visible...

Those vids that don't allow you to scroll forward, with no control bar, get the download helper out and download it,and use windows classic player and play it with that and scroll forward to see what all the jazz is about

I can't be stuffed jumping through those hoops.

To me, it's sheer arrogance to expect me to sit through 10 or 20 minutes of waffle to get to the guts of something that can be stated in 30 seconds or so.

If there are no controls, I just shut it down.
And likewise if I get blasted out of my seat with an autoplaying video or audio track.

      cheers,
      Eric G.
