Set up a game plan, start giving something of value to generate leads, and provide extreme value and go make that money.

Hi and thank you for the reply. I could not be any greener than I am right now. I have not even made a web site yet. I would like to promote a product that I found on click bank. When I go to the affiliate section, they give a bunch of banners and email suggestions. Does this mean I create a web page and put those banners on it or can I copy their page and attach my affiliate id to it? On their site they also have a video of the product in action. Can I use this on my site? Sorry if these seem like silly questions,I just want to do it right and start making some money.

I will consider not copying their website and put your affiliate link on it. Use your affiliate link which will be directed to their site. It's best if you create a web page and then put your affiliate id (banner) on it. Create a review site for the product instead. That will be great.

I don't think you can use their promotion video too unless you ask them for permission.

Jim, first of all congratulations for taking the first steps to being an IMer, all the best to you.

Now, as someone else said, you have to set up a plan of attack. When you join affiliate programs, where you are selling a product in order to earn commission from the sales you are given a series of banners and affiliate links which may be the ones you are referring to. Some even offer splash pages which are pretty generic. You must now decide where you will place these ads and links so that you can begin to make money. NOW, doing so will cost you some money, after all it is promotion and marketing any product does require some investment.

Also know what niche you will be targeting with your product. Having this clear in your head you will be able to develop a more comprehensive action plan with regards to promotion. There are many FREE promotional tools available online, which will help you get your feet wet, give them a try. In this business it is pretty much trial and error, and results are pretty individualized and relevant to the product, the marketing effort and the way you plan.

I hope this helps you, if you need additional guidance feel free to ask. There are MANY warriors who are very knowledgeable, very impartial and will help you decide which methods will work best for you.

Hi, I am putting together a web site that will be a review of a product on offervault. For each lead generated from my site I will make xxx $. I can not figure out how to put a form on my site that will be a box where you put your first name, last name and email address. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks,Jim

autoresponder programs have built in forms.

aweber cost money, there are others that are free.

Actually Aweber.com is having a fantastic $1 trial promotion now. MailChimp.com is a good free autoresponder to start off with IMO. They are free until 500 subscribers.

To further clarify MostlyHarmless' post, the autoresponder program you choose will have form templates on their websites which you can customize and then 'copy/paste' a given code into wherever you want it on your website.

You need to do some thought on a business plan, or the Who, What, Where, When And Hows of Internet Marketing. Then implement and affective business strategy that fits your niche market.

Like willard said, you need to first put together a business plan. Figure out what market you are interested in targeting, and figure out how you can enrich those people's lives somehow or solve one of their pressing problems.

Make the decision that you actually want to create a business online, not just make money. If you build a business that provides value to your customers, you will grow steadily and increase your income, but if you continually get distracted by all the shiny courses out there promising $500/day, your business won't ever grow and you'll spin your wheels and likely get discouraged.

If you start with a plan, a solid work ethic, and the right mindset, you will succeed slowly and surely. It takes time to get the ball rolling, especially when you're new, just don't give up and throw in the towel.

Consistently do the activities that will grow your business and you will see long term success.

Hi I really need to ask some questions. I am wanting to sell a poduct online from offervault. I have bought and paid for my domain name, have hosting with hostgator, and have built a website to review the product. When I asked about a form for name and email ,you suggested aweber or one of the free ones. Do I need an autoresponder? Any help you can give me would be great

I believe you can get aweber for $1 for the first month. They will take care of every autoresponder need you have.

With them you can setup your optin forms to capture names/emails, send broadcasts to your lists, create automatic followup messages.

I'd stay away from free ones, because they can have lower deliverability and you may not ever know. Plus if you wanted to switch to aweber in the future it's a huge pain and you can lose subscribers. I'd just get started out on the right foot and get a good one to begin with.

If you joined an affiliate program that did not give you a plan of action, including explaining all the how to's, then you better look for a different program at least untill you feel like you know what your doing.

There are many programs for beginners out there, but many leave you hanging in the what to do next department, or how to set up your site. Many offer a website already set up, but you lose your leads, or add your leads to their list instead of yours.
