Hello Warriors,

I am trying to upload a sales page theme to WP.

I tried different themes, but eveytime I try to upload a theme, I got this error:

"Incompatible archive PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature"

Can anyone explain what does this mean?

Thanks for help

You need to manually upgrade your version of wordpress. You probably have WP 2.8, no?

Not all themes are compatible across different version of WordPress.

Is this a theme available publicly or is it a theme purchased from someone else. If it is a free theme, maybe other can test it out on their version to see if this is a version specific issue.

I tried 2 different themes, each of them is part of a paid package.

Are you installing from within Wordpress or using ftp?

I'd try whichever method you weren't using. If that doesn't work, you need Istvan!

Did you try unzipping it on your machine and uploading (via FTP) to the server?
(the error message is complaining about wrong "archive" a.k.a. compressed file - zip, rar etc.)

The less 'automate' gizmos you use... the less chances for annoying errors

By un-zipping it on your computer you will also find out if it is a corrupted .zip file - which may be the ultimate problem.

If it is not corrupted then just upload it via FTP or through file manager in your Cpanel.

I just came across this excellent post and solved the very same problem. Just lazy I guess, but my zip file had been corrupted. I just uploaded the php file using the file manager in cPanel and the plugin activated and worked first time. Lesson learned. Thanks all.
