    @paul,

I see what the OP means here.

The example of the Youtube links is actually in the video he provided a link for. So, unfortunately you have to watch the vid to see it. I just watched it. Mute it down if the Brown boy gets on your nerves. or go to time 13:18 mins into the video and you will see what the OP is on about.

And yes, it does look cool.

Looking for the same thing. Since I'm a new member here, it doesn't allow to put links here (need 15 posts) so I'll spell it out! : "blog" then a dot followed by "affiliateclassroom" then another dot followed by "com" and then use slashes after here: "2009" then "10" then "13" then "six-new-youtube-practices-to-grow-your-busness"

    (phew!)

Scroll down to the post from André Loibl :

"... and don't forget to put a link to your website at the start of your video description - you can do that in youtube!"

and the one just below from Lawton Chiles who says:

"Don't forget to put a live hyperlink back to your site, Facebook Fan page or Twitter link. Just go into your video description box and type your URL and then a space. The write your description."

So it seems you have to put the link at the beginning of the Description box. Ok, having said all this, I tried it and sure enough, it's there (either when I'm logged in our out of my YT account). But it is only seen when you look at the description in the Channel page. And the link doesn't have to be at the beginning - it can be pretty much anywhere you want. But I don't know why, but the description on the normal video page hasn't been updated. Weird...

Looking at George's video carefully, the whole section turns a colour blue when he hovers the mouse over it. So it might be some sort of "widget" or "add on" that you can add to your Youtube account or something like that... So not sure still what's going on so will continue to investigate!

    Cheers, Andy

OK, now I think I got it. My link did finally appear in Youtube. It took about 20-30 mins for Youtube to reflect changes I made to the video's Description until it appeared on the regular video screen (I guess this is Youtubes systems just working and checking for 'inappropriate' links ot that they're even there) . Even though your description can be really long, looks like the first 165 characters are shown when just doing regular viewing so you've got to get your link mentioned-in early. You can't use anchor text (for keywords) so it's just the straight URL.

Since I'm new, Warrior Forum won't allow me to post links (until I reach 15 posts that is) - this is no #3 :-) But just search for "Extract Top Gear" in Youtube: it should be No 1 on the list (it's a 1 min clip from the BBC Top Gear Bolivia show). I don't have a link right at the top of the description so you'll have to click on "More Info" just to the right of my mug shot. You should see the link further down....let me know if you have any probs.

    Alan,

Youtube are trying out a new format. They are only trying out this new format for some users and not others. It's beta testing for a certain percentage before they change it for everyone.

    And that's all it is!

edit: Like someone else said they may be trying this in Chrome browsers before rolling it out to other browsers. If I view youtube in Opera it looks normal. Every video looks the old style. But if I'm in Chrome every video looks like the new style with the description link under. I keep getting a message in Chrome that I've been picked to try the new youtube, but I think yeah, it's just for any Chrome user. So there's no way for you to do it, but if somebody views your video in Chrome, then it will show the link below the video.

So, now that you know all this, just go about your day and realize you can't force youtube to do this. If someone's in Chrome, they will see it that way anyway.

It's Youtube's new site format.. Nothing you can do about it until they give it to you. They're slowly releasing it, you'll get it eventually.
