Skype/FF compatibility?

When I click a link in Skype can I get it to just open in FF?

It's really annoying when it goes to open a new IE window just for that.

Know what I mean?

Hmm, When I click on it, it opens in Firefox on both Windows 7 and Leopard. Firefox is set as my default browser in both.

This is probably very obvious but... is firefox set as your default browser? If that doesn't work, you'd probably want to take a look at this: http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=167301

It's undoubtedly a configuration problem somewhere.

You can check out stuff using the "default programs" link on the start menu and see if changing anything there helps.

That's where stuff like that is controlled. It's rather quite amazing at all the different places where different things can be configured to open up one or another browsers.

I usually just right-click (copy link) and copy that into my address bar.

    Much respect,

    Angie

Thanks Angie, I actually did check and IE is NOT set as my default browser

Call me lazy but I don't want to copy and paste anymore. Things should work a certain way...

Hey Justin, I understand ... (not wanting to c&p, and having things work like they should.)

Did you look at ALL the places where there can be a default browser set?
There are innumerable places...it's quite mind-boggling.

Somewhere -- whether in Window or in Skype -- if IE opens in response to a click -- it's set as the default browser for some action. Otherwise, it simply wouldn't happen.

        Much Respect,

        Angie
