My Stomach Feels Like A Swimming Pool In Chile From The Excitement

So, for those who have worked on a large product launch, have you ever hit a point where you sit staring at the testing data and realize that you're getting ready to bat the ball out of the park with a grand slam homerun?

Then your stomach kicks in with the gut wrenching excitement that makes you want to pee down your leg and run down the street screaming AC/DC songs at the same time?

Gotta' keep focused and keep my head on straight.

Goal line 20 yards ahead.

Yeah, I've been kind of lax. I've been really focused lately on a couple of things. I've also still been trying to decide what to do with my personal blog and how to position all the good old fashioned personal branding crap, which ties into all my social media accounts.

I'm actually on Facebook non-stop because I manage friend ad campaigns on a contract basis for business clients.

BTW It's time to "do" lunch again.
Well with all the earthquakes, I can only presume it's pretty sloshy.

      Sloshy... is that a word?

Whenever you're around. We can hook up for lunch in Tri County, Sharonville, or wherever.

Not even close to IM or MMO. It's a completely non-related niche, but it's a high demand emotional sale and a very big market.

I agree... I've got to stay focused, but I really do think this one is a grand slam.

It's not in the MMO/IM market, so it's already a crusher because the market is far more responsive to tactics that we take for granted and consider "old hat".

Launching anywhere from 2 to 4 products monthly, I have long forgotten
what that feels like. For me, it's just another day at the office.

What keeps me motivated is knowing that I am supporting my family and that
I don't have to work for a boss.

But the starry eyed days, at least for me, are long gone.

Don't get me wrong. I still enjoy the IM life, but it's like being married for
25 years. I love my wife, but it's not like when we were first married and I
felt like a kid in a candy store. That feeling gets replaced by one that I feel
      is more meaningful.

I'm not sure if what I'm saying is something anybody else can relate to, but
it's pretty much what IM has become for me.

        Wow...

I've been crushing stuff for years and the selling, stats, traffic and numbers still excite me to this very day.

I'd hate to feel like you described...

I transferred from an offline industry that had regular monster days each month, and the thought of that still gives me goosebumps.

Business is such a rush for me that I don't ever see it going away, even with a reduced work load now....

        Peace

        Jay

p.s. Please don't take this the wrong way, Steve... this is not a personal dig at you, I really do get your point... just sayin' that it's completely different for me.

Jay, age may have something to do with it. I'm 52. When I was 20, I
dreamed of having a career as a songwriter. While I still wouldn't mind
getting a song published and recorded someday, it's not the rush it used
to be when I crank out a tune and send it to a publisher.

On the plus side, my writing is better because the pressure is gone. I
no longer do it with the "I have to write a hit song or I'll die" mentality.

Today it's more like, "I enjoy it so if it hits, great. If not...that's cool too."

And this is in an area where I have had almost no success.

So like I said, it might be an age thing with me.

Michael...a thank you just isn't enough for your great reply. I am really
happy for you. I hope this new venture is truly the "knock it out of the park"
            that you're looking for.

I can dig that Steve. This one is a major lifestyle shift for me though.

You gotta' remember that I've built a 15 year career in the Internet Marketing business from a very different angle... total "offline" since 1994.

When you're in the B2B marketing consulting business, it's your own gig, you make a hell of a lot of money, but at the end of the day, it's still a structured, regular commitment of time and effort... not unlike a jobby job.

This is a shift for me into a completely different lifestyle... one that will ultimately involve pulling a JMo "Let's take this show on the road" travel with the family on a regular basis, and working in a market that I would have never dreamed doing seminars, etc...

So if we get this one right, there's going to be some nice Facebook advertising clients up for grabs, because I'm basically shutting down my entire marketing consulting practice and firing all my clients. Even the good ones.

Some would call me crazy for trashing a mid-six figure annual income, but I'm simply tired of that business and don't care one iota about it anymore. It's not about the money. I've already got money.

How are you finding this progression? I am still very much in that world, and although you can make some BIG money, they still want YOU or your company to deliver the service don't they.

I hear what you're saying here. Although I do try and get that first married feeling back every now and then with a good night out without the kids...
