Paid for a WSO, I have a few questions please.

Hello,

I'm totally green to this, so bare with me . I've recently purchased a wso that came with

*Graphics
* Teasers (to make my list) Example is:
If you want yata ya, do this:
1) yata ya
2) yata ya
3) if you want tip three, give your email below
*Articles (to send to people who I get on my list)
*Sales pitch page already written, I can copy paste if I want (for blog, long form)

Now all this seems pretty straight forward. Somehow to me, it isn't . Here is my questions:

1) When I make my blog I make two pages, one is my sale page (Sales pitch page) and the other is for teasers (to make my list) which is the one I direct ALL of my traffic to, is this correct? Also, should I use wordpress as my blog software, and use aweber and/or mailchimp for auto responses?

2) After I get a list of people who opt in, I email out the mystery tip via automailer to them + maybe an article for them to read (to peak their interest even further) and include a link to my sales page at the bottom of that email, is this correct? Also, if I have 10 articles to send, how big if a time frame should I wait before sending them another?

3) What is the main purpose of the list? Couldn't I just send massive traffic to my sales pitch page? It seems like once I get them there, if they want to purchase they are not going to want to sign up an email wait and read articles etc... Obviously I'm wrong cause everyone makes a list, I just don't fully understand it.

Thanks so much ,
Pickoshe

you pretty much got is spot on: get their email address, so you can send them regular emails (that's the whole point: if you send them straight to sales-page, and they leave, they're gone forever, i.e. you can't contact them again)

then send them good stuff and occasionally (not always) ask for the sale.

lesson I've learned: you basically train them with your content.
if you only ever send free high quality content, then they'll be totally surprised (and pissed off) when you then send them an affiliate or your own offer.

so, for my markets it works best to mix offers and free stuff.

also: they're most interested (generally speaking) in the first 30 days, so make sure to include at least one offer in that period.

(as usual: test what works and what doesn't for your personal circumstances)

    good luck

What Viet says is exactly correct. When you direct them to a sales page, conversions are TOO low. But you get them onto your list, train them, offer a lot and later sell, they are more likely to buy.

Having a list is like having a bunch of prospects who will be interested in your stuff for lifetime. Instead, a sales page can make you just a possible one time sale.

    Carty..

Do you know how many of the wso was sold? If not, you may want to rewrite it all a little to put your pesonality in it. The danger is that the same people will get the same message many times.

    Good luck

Yea, I'm going to have to change a lot. I just wanted to make sure that I know (fairly well) what I'm doing before I start mixing stuff up .

      Any other comments?

      Thanks again,
