How To Market On Facebook

Hi Warriors, I am wondering if one can possibly use facebook and or myspace to promote an Internet marketing product?

I am trying to organize a seminar for the youths in Nigeria but I don't want to spend money on adverts as I want the seminar to be almost free if not free.

You can promote Internet marketing products by creating
pages or group. Try to use some software to automatically
add friends. Post some freebies first then when you think
that the numbers of comments are increasing then it's time
    to promote your product.

Do you think any software will help me in this regard?
If so please tell me how?

Please explain what exactly you want to convey. I would be grateful to you.

I do agree that it's much like list building outside of FB that having something of value given away for free makes a ton of sense.

I'm writing a short ebook on wineries in Napa and Sonoma for my business fan page, it should be available only to fans. I'll include coupons for free tastings to some of our partner wineries (about $100 in free wine tasting) should be plenty good enough to get people to sign up.

I usually add around 42 friends a day only for every
account. I let my employees create their own account
then I aggregate the accounts they created and
use a software to add them automatically with random
time adding. Imagine if you have 20 employees offline
or 20 virtual employees you've hired for your social
networking? That's thousands of new friends per month.

Dont bother with Facebook if you are selling any Internet Marketing product. The demographics just dont work out. Most people on facebook are there to socialize and are teenagers/young adults. The only products that are worth promoting are mainstream products who have a general audience. And even THEN the traffic quality is very low.

    Hope that helps,

This is exactly what I have been thinking about. Facebook worked for my football/soccer forum but I have my doubts about it effectiveness for Internet marketing products.

Facebook marketing is pretty fun, I have turned many Facebook Friends to buyers. It is all about connecting with people. Really connecting, not just sending them an invite and hoping they click the link on your wall.

Talk to people, meet them, ask about them and what they are trying to achieve, help them.

Facebook marketing is a very subtle but powerful way to market your business opportunity or product.

        Don't try to sell.

I'm afraid, I totally disagree with you.
      Combine:
      1) the sheer numbers-power of Facebook pages (1,000,000 fans) +
      2) possibility to promote your product(s) for free +
      3) outside-the-box-thinking

If that doesn't make you any income, IM might not be your best bet.

You are right selling IM product in facebook is not easy since people are in facebook to socialize, telling how to make money in the internet sometimes does not go down well with this people but when you follow their post trend and drop a products that inclined towards their discussions then you hit gold with facebook.

Fact is that FACEBOOK only works for mainstream products, not very niche products (sorry, IM and make money online is niche). What does work is anything fitness related (weight loss), finance (debt), dating, voucher type offers/discounts to i.e. Dominos and other more popular type of verticals.

Potential customer acquisition through Facebook PPC is not recommended for IM. However, if you already market elsewhere, having a Facebook Fanpage is worth having.

Facebook can work for you if you do it right.

First, have a plan of conversion. Have compelling copy on you page. Have a schedule of posts you'll be making that will increase conversion.

Next, find targeted followers and add them. Make sure to have a personal message, and a reason why you are following them. Very important.

    Add 15-20 people per day.
    This can all be outsourced.

As I understand it, the things that work well on Facebook are not your typical IM stuff for the most part. The way to make money on facebook it so monetize free things: Downloads, CPA offers, videos, etc.

If you are going to try to hawk your latest get rich quick scheme or **** berry pills you are wasting your time. The one niche I know that seems to be an exception is Dating. But it's next to impossible to get a Facebook PPC add approved for that niche. So you need to do the hard work of building up a page or group to a big membership first.

Then if you are subtle and don't daily spam your members you can rake in a little dough, maybe a lot.
