How do I put a video in Wordpress?

I am trying to put a Wordpress site together and I need to have a video in it. How do I do that?

I appreciate any help you can offer.

    I would install a plugin - ex. WordPress › Wordpress Video Plugin WordPress Plugins

    I've used this in the past, and works fine. Which wordpress version are you running ?
  • Normally, just paste your embed code into the post while using the HTML editor (not the Visual monster...). It always worked for me. I even pasted embed code into a text widget in a sidebar - and that worked, too.

    • I have always just pasted the embed code into the html editor. Never had a problem with it.

    • It really don't get much harder than that. I think every version of wordpress will support Youtube embeds. Just be carefull that your youtube account don't get slapped or you will lose half your posts...

  • This is not a Youtube Video. It is a video from the product site that I was going to put in there. I have a short line of script with the video address, and I put that in the HTML section, between two paragraphs, but when I display it, I get absolutely nothing.

    I am using the latest version of WP, I think it is 2.9.2.

  • I appreciate all the advice from the fine folks here. Unfortunately nothing has worked and I have to just forget about the video and go another route. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I have to quit wasting time and move on.
