Can I use an istock pic on fanpage

Can someone please tell me if I can use a photo from istock as my fan fage pic?

I am not using a head shot and saying it is me. It is a body part (stomach) and I know it is iffy using a person and saying it is you but this is for a specific problem and the pic is of it.

Hope that makes sense.

If someone could help that would be great.

Thanks Sarah

    Hi Sarah

If you've paid for your image then yes you can use it for your own site.

Good idea to read their tos for any types of restrictions

    Thanks for the reply Kim
I had a look but wasn't sure on it so thought someone might be able to help. I don't want to use it and find out I shouldn't have.

If you are asking "can I pass off a photo of a stomach as me to prove something works" then the ethical answer is no.

No I won't ever be saying it is me, It will essentially be used as the page pic, so people associate it with the page. To get rid of the question mark and to have an on topic pic not random say flowers that mean nothing to the topic.

      did that make more sense?

Yep, you can. Just make sure you paid for it. I doubt anyone will realize its an istockphoto, just make sure you dont use a very popular image otherwise people will recognize it easily and may expose it as fake.

Thanks guys ummm I am not going to be saying it is from using some "miracle" product.
I guess an example would be:

A fan page/group about peoples remedy/cures for dandruff - the picture would then be a scalp shot of dandruff.

It is more a page where people can say what has worked or what hasn't worked. Also to use it as a funnel to my blog not a CPA page.
