Question About Squeeze Page and Wordpress Blog

I have a question about ranking my squeeze page.

I currently have my squeeze page on my root domain and on a sub domain I have my blog.

For example;

Squeeze page - http://www.mywidgetsite.com
Blog - http://www.mywidgetsite.com/blog

My squeeze page does not have any links to my blog. As a matter of fact, it has no links at all.
It's just a basic squeeze page.

I want to try and rank my squeeze page in the search engines and I was wondering if I need to
add a text link to my blog, or does Google some how already know that my blog exists and is part
of my squeeze page??

If I should be linking to my blog, should I also add other links like; Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, etc...??

It is very much advisable to link other folders/pages on your domain from your main pages. This encourages Google to crawl and index your pages.

Just put Disclaimer and Privacy on your squeeze page. You dont need a link to your blog. If you want to get your squeeze page ranked high all you need to do is focus on backlinks. Backlinks with the main keyword in its anchor text are 95% of this game anyway!

I would typically create at least three footer links:

    - One that links to the sales page with my keyword phrase or site name.
    - One that links to the blog with "keyword phrase blog"
    - One that links to a privacy policy page which you can host on your blog

Backlinks are definitely the key, but I'm wondering if adding the links on my squeeze page that I mentioned in my first post will help even more?

A low key link to your blog at the bottom of the page will help google determine how relevant your page is, and relevancy is the key!

Along with a contact, disclaimer and privacy link.

If you design your squeeze page to show your offer before the fold ( what the visitor sees before they scroll down the page ) and leave some space before linking to relevant articles ( optional ) and then your low key links right at the bottom.

The google spiders will see the links, follow them and take notes on their relevance to your squeeze page. So make the links relevant.

Make sure your blog is seo friendly and as always make the content good!

For as long as your title tag and your description contains your desired keywords, you're free to point links to your squeeze page to make it rank in the search engines.

    Hope this helps

I do think that you must have a link to your blog within your footer on your squeeze page.

Links such as Blog, Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Terms of use, etc do NO harm.

In fact, you're offering link juice from your squeeze page to your Blog which in turn helps your blog rank better.

    I'll recommend it any day.

It will help you for sure.
