Wordpress sticky plugin

I want to make a certain post in a WP site the permanent first or home page. I installed WP-sticky and activated it. Yet I can not find anywhere to set a page as a sticky, and I can find no instruction on how to accomplish this.

I have done this before and had no problems getting it done. But for the life of me, I can't find anywhere to set the configuration up.

I am using a new WP install, 2.9.2.

If anyone has any feedback, I would appreciate it.

You don't need a plugin to make a post a sticky. Just click on 'posts', hover over the post in question and click 'quick edit' and then click the 'make this post sticky' and you are all set.

If you want to make it sticky while creating a post, click the "visibility: public edit" button on the right of the post entry and click the "stick this to the front page" button.

An alternative would just be to make a page that you want on the front page and make that the static front page of the site.
