$10 to the best idea!!

Hey everyone, I am trying to brainstorm here. I need a name for a Website Design and Promotion company.

I would like it to be 1-3 words and obviously catchy, yet professional!

Please post your ideas, and if I see an idea I like, I will PM you
I will thank you all for taking the time and helping me!

To your success,
Mogly

What I usually do is take a list of 10-15 words and then place every combination that I can think of. I think send that list to as many people as I can and have then pick their top 3.

Who are you appealing to? Are you trying to be hip and Web 2.0-y or going for the stuffy small businessman? Or are you going after Warriors?

      Hi Will...

It dosn't look to be available any longer...that's the problem with posting names or domains like this in open forum....any good ones come out & someone snatches them up before the OP has a chance to act on it...

Use the word "media" in the name of the company as it gives you the flexibility to explore all areas of the industry. While you may be focusing on design one day, you then may be focusing more on marketing and internet based advertising in other functions.

Digital World Media <--My quick pick

Honesty what you do does not necessarily define you as a business. Do you have a business plan or a mission statement, or vision?

I used to be in the insurance restoration business. Roofing, Siding, and gutters. I could easily just say, Roofing bla bla construction company.

But when I sat down and really thought about what I really did and the market I was after the name ended up being Restore My Home Construction. Far cry from roofing bla bla company.

10 Dollar name is going to yield 10 dollar results. Don't take the name lightly, it defines your presence in the market place and brands you.

Haven't seen your work so nothing personal LOL but not diggin on some of the suggestions as most seem too cookiecutter & not catchy.

Yeah I see you want "professional" but remember PROFESSIONAL doesn't need t be BORING these days... Lots of younger people are getting into business etc. Do you want to work with boring, run of the mill people or some young innovative entrepreneurs? Funner work yeah???

    My ideas....
If you want something "edgy" - Graphic Images or Graphic Impressions
Something more web 2.0 - Pixelign or iCandy or Visuality

Like someone said before, it really depends on what kind of image and market you are going after.

    "ProDesign"

Simple, small, memorable. Also, if you check on google, no one has that specific name, but some people have it related to their own countries, such as denmark. Mostly prodesign for other companies is based around eyewear or architectural means, which leaves it open for you to take related to your own business ventures.

The name alone speaks a lot, and can easily make people go "Aha" when they head over to your website.

I think you are better to go with a small name, of 1-2 words, and let me show you why: Look at facebook, google, yahoo, twitter, myspace, ivilliage, ehow, ezinearticles, articlesbase, walmart, hallmark, mcdonalds, itunes and even warriorforum...

What do all of these names have in common? Well they are extremely popular websites, no doubt.... but also, they have names which are easy to remember, easy to brand, and are also simple.

Keep the complex stuff to the actual projects for your customers, not to your name or your website. Remember that simplicity sells. Do you really expect someone to remember a really long name, or do you expect them to sit there typing that out?

People want things fast and easy, simple and direct. That is why I would say to go with a name which is really small, compact, and simple...as well as easy to remember and not difficult for anyone to spell or remember.

Therefore, I wouldn't suggest anything with dashes in it, apostrophe's (or any ascii characters in general) or weird spelling's or weirdly worded phrases in it. People may find that difficult to remember, and also will get annoyed typing that in or writing it down over the phone, if you had to direct them to your website.

In the future to, when your clients want to refer you to someone, they won't be saying

"Oh what was the name of that company...it was something like...oh dammit cant remember!"

Instead they would be saying "Prodesign"...because the name DIRECTLY reflects what you are about, and is so simple to remember, given the fact that it does in fact directly reflect what your company is about, and because it's compact and easy to spell. It also screams "professional", and "go for it" or allowed, such as in the political use of the word "pro" for hot topics, such as pro-peace, pro-green etc...

Sevenhelmets also had the right kind of idea going on there, with simple and easy phrases, like ICandy. I am kind of torn on that one myself, since it definitely catches your eye, and I could see how it relates to your business.

It also sparks one's interest by igniting their curiosity to figure out what ICandy is all about. But that could also work against your favor, however Sevenhelmets still has the right idea going on here, for simple phrases which are not clouded with confusing or clever spelling/wording tricks, or hyphens.

They (the original poster) wanted it to be professional. I'm not sure branding themselves based on a name, or nickname is what they were going after here.

Try something like Imedia, Icreations or as badboy_Nick mentioned, "Idezine" However, I am not keen on the z in there either, as I'm not sure how many people will be able to remember that it is spelled with a Z.

The people on the warrior forum here are a lot more quick witted than other people in the real world. Keep in mind people will be using this company because they don't know how to design or promote, and maybe are just starting out in the online world.

This will be new to them, so expecting them to immediately be able to remember a name which is a bit more complex or quick witted with hyphens, ascii, or slang may not be the best approach just yet for this particular group of people.

Not saying they are stupid, but I gather they would prefer something straight up and to the point, before they would prefer something which may leave you guessing or thinking about it for too long.

Show your customers that you are serious enough to put your own name on your business - increases credibility.

    It rhymes... M ... M ...

When you give your business card to customers, they will know that it is your company within a second. Do not give them a chance of thinking that you are just an employee of "so & so" company!

Some random names. I think brandable names would be the way to go in this situation, since it's not easy to combine two different things in one name, and the end result will probably not be that great.
