Google Keyword Tool Question

Is there a way to do a search while eliminating unwanted words?

For example, can one search for

"Martin Luther" and not receive

"Martin Luther King"?

I've tried (using that example) -king ... won't work.

  • After you do a search click on "Filter my results " (I think)
  • Hey Terry, I sometimes ask myself the same question. I think that if someone optimized their site to only have limited phrases then it should be totally searchable. I am not sure if you have tried this already, but I read in another forum with a similar keyword and key phrase discussion that people tend to download the Google browser toolbar. Doing so gives you the flexibility to adjust the search box options. NOW, I have not tried it and can not certify this is what is going to answer your question, but it does not hurt to try. You can always remove the toolbar if you do not want it on your browser. Please share with us if this method works. Good Luck
  • Here's what you need, Terry:

    martin luther
    -"martin luther king"

Put that in the search box and uncheck "Use synonyms." That'll do the trick.
