How useful is article marketing?

So I have a wordpress blog thats been up for 2 and a half weeks and its made one sale. Since im relatively new to this (3 weeks) I'm wondering how to effectively use article marketing to my advantage. I want to make a new campaign so how many articles should I write and where to submit them. Is this still effective seeing as a "sniped" wordpress blog would outrank articles?

Many Thanks

When I begin a new campaign, I always write between 15-20 articles to support it. Many of them will outrank your blog and send you hundreds of additional clicks.

Use them as blog posts first then submit them to Ezinearticles.com, and finally, submit a few to fastsubmitarticles.com . They will then submit them to a few hundred other article directories.

Fastsubmitarticles does charge for their service but it is well worth it.

Actually, allow me to add iSnare.com to that. Costs next to nothing. And they submit to thousands of directories.

Just wanted to clear something up...

On EZA they won't allow you to put a direct affiliate link in your article. But they do allow you to put in a link to your main domain, (ie www.yourdomain.com) and from that domain redirect to an affiliate link. Take a look at the editorial guidelines here.

So you could in theory put in a php script on your blog to redirect traffic to an affiliate link. But prospects would miss out on all the good stuff on your blog and also bypass going on your mailing list.

I have found that article marketing is most effective when you have researched your keywords well beforehand. If you find a decent longtail, and can see other EZA articles (or other article directories) ranking for it when you put it into Google then there's a good chance you can also get on the first page as well.

You amy be able to get to no.1 with a bit of promotion of that article.

        regards

        Francis

      Here's a question:
If Google doesn't like duplicate content how does submitting the same article to hundreds of article directories help? Perhaps I misunderstand Google or the way article marketing works...?

Very useful to be plain and simple.

However more detailed I would say its a great way to get search engine traffic and interested readers that are looking for your product or service on to your site. Just think about it. Would you spend a hour of work writing up a good article that sent one visitor but this one visitor was very interested in what you had to read? This one person could be a repeat buyer of yours down the road and help build your business. If your not using article marketing to drive quality visitors to your sites your really missing out.

Oh, so I should still have a "landing page", my blog, and write those articles first as blog posts so I dont get google slapped by using duplicate content and then submit those. Now, what does "spinning" mean, I understand there is software that after writing a couple articles it will mix and match those and make original content? Does it do so successfully? What would be the difference if I added a PHP redirect to my affiliate link so when they click my blog in my enzine article at the bottom it redirects to the merchants site? Do article directories not like you placing affiliate links in your main content? And one last thing lol, why dont people do more article marketing if it brings that more potential costumers, does it not make a hefty income? Many Thanks!

I say work on your blog posts first. But your going to have to create unique variations of it about 60% unique for article directories like ezine to approve of them.

Article spinning is simply a program that takes your article and pretty much jumbles it up to try and make it unique. There is a different program I use instead that works very well for creating readable articles quicker then writing up a new article for each article directory.

With Ezine articles you can not redirect to an affiliate page it is a no no to them and for good reason. You are better of directing it to your blog but it needs to be a site like www.yourdomain.com

I think article marking is become a bit saturated anymore which makes it harder to start ranking. This is why I think you need to take the time out and write well written articles that people are going to like.

Threads asking how to do Article Marketing come up quite often here - so I have a standard reply - I hope this helps:

Two brilliant threads to read about article marketing are these:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html

Read them both - all the way through - and take notes.

For further information I recommend the following directory - It is education in article marketing - a guide book and monthly newsletters - with a directory thrown in! You can read what Warriors think about it here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...alks-walk.html

I can also recommend the WSO's from this guy:

Articles will bring you big business only after a month or so of being available. Unless your topic is so hot, that it gets a ton of traffic the first day through google alerts or digg. S.E.O. can be placed in your content, but you will need to understand this well. Try providing lots of value in your article and then a link to your site. Hopefully after enough education provided by you, your views will be confident it's safe to buy your products.

I ALWAYS see results with Article Marketing. Done right, it takes keywords from 32 in Google to 1-3 without any other work done for those keywords.

It simply does a great job.

Article marketing is a very effective way of building backlinks to your site or blog, and as someone mentioned here, if well written and promoted the article can even rank higher than the blog. One of the important things in article marketing that one must keep in mind is that articles NEED to have quality content and be informative. I have seen, way too many times, articles that are packed with keywords and make absolutely no sense whatsoever. For our articles to be taken seriously by the reader and by search engines who love content, like Google, it is crucial that we write well structured and quality articles that convey a message. As to spinning softwares, I have used them and I will not use them again. They are terrible... I rather pay a quality content writer than use the spinners. That is just my opinion anyway.

There are n number of websites available over the Internet. Why people will come on your site and buy your product. To get it done you have to write something about it.

Being a quality article writer, I think article marketing is super effective method to get your page on the top of google. You can force your readers to buy your product by your magnetic effect writing skills.

If you produce only 10 articles daily and upload in only top 10 article directories then you can calculate how much traffic will come on your site daily. If I calculate only one user on one site on one article then you will have 100 users minimum on your site.

    What are you thinking now???

  • Article marketing IS an effective way of promotion and backlink building. I do not distribute often. As an article writer I concentrate on writing quality and informative articles for my clients. YET, the few times my clients ask me to submit, they give me a list, and I can guarantee they use only high PR sites, they always emphasize on refusing automatic submission. In addition, if they request 20 articles, they use ten for submission and the other ten to distribute within their site and on high PR Blogs. A lot of blog owners will let you post a quality and informative article on their blog if they know they can benefit from the information. This will also be advantageous to your own Blog.

There is a lot of good advice on this thread. Keep in mind that an article is like a mini web site. Like mentioned before, it should be well written and structured so the reader can get the most out of it.

Being that it's like mini website, or more like an excerpt of your main site keyword research and titles are going to be important. Don't worry a whole lot about spinning articles to much, Google can tell anyways. And the view article spinning a way to manipulate search engine results and that they do indeed frown upon. Spinning was just invented based on the unfounded fear of duplicate content.

However if that really existed some article directories would get the mega slap from Google for allowing webmasters to take others content and put it on their sites. Such is not the case. Syndication is not duplicate content.

I like using articles. They can bring traffic through the article itself (people finding it and reading it) but it can also bring you some great traffic by increasing your rankings in the search engine. Just make sure you utilize the signature feature and include a descriptive link or two back to the site you want to promote. Those can end up being very valuable backlinks.

The duplicate content wrap or 'Google Slap' is the scourge of article submissions. I personally use 'Article Post Robot' and 'SubmitYourArticle.com' as they have spinning functions. Therefore the content will appear unique for each submission and you should avoid the Google slap. You have full control over both of these spinners so the articles do make sense and read well. I can't help but think though that Google's algorithms are so sophisticated that they can spot patterns in articles and thus identify even the best spun article. My own thoughts on duplicate content penalty is that it wont hurt your rankings, it just will mean that the back link will not carry much weight. However its all speculation as no one knows for sure, only grand daddy Google.

    Mao

I use article marketing for all my sites. convert to pdf and upload to file sharing sites, set up simple power point slide, with subheadings as bullet points and make a short video upload to youtube, submit to article directories, one link goes to my related blog post or web page, and one link goes to the youtube video.
