Am I losing sales (membership site) by only using PayPal?

Hello, everyone,

I'm currently evaluating membership scripts. One of them integrates with 1shoppingcart, which I have, and will thus allow a second merchant account in addition to PayPal.

But there is one or two other scripts that I like better that seem to only work with PayPal.

Does anyone have any experience with losing sales because of not offering another payment method besides PayPal?

    On one of my e-commerce sites (that sells physical products) I changed from a merchant account to Paypal only and didnt notice a decline in sales. I think it's because of 2 things:

    1. You dont have to have a Paypal account to checkout with Paypal (you can just enter your credit card info)

    2. Paypal is a well known and trusted name.

    Some may have you think that but in all the membership sites I have built I have never seen one lose any sales because it only took paypal ..

    But this is just my opinion though.

    I believe you have to have a Paypal account to purchase a recurring billing item. If this is the case, then in my opinion you will definitely lose sales.
