Are you a hosting affiliate?

Just out of curiosity, who is an affiliate for webhosting sites?

I was just thinking about it because some of the webhosting commisions are out of this world. For example at hostgator, you make $50 a commission if you refer 1-5 people a month. If you refer above 21 people a month, you make $125 per commission.

Crazy. Someday I'd love to take part in that, but I'm not ready for it yet.

I'm an affiliate of some, and also am a reseller. Was there something specific about it you wanted to know?

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

I am a hosting affiliate and the commissions are OK, I mean it looks good but keep in mind that hosting is pretty competitive which isn't a bad thing but does mean that you've got to be a little more creative.

Also there are products that pay hundreds, or thousands, on each sale.

Having said that I promote hosting two ways:

    1. As a soft sell to my IM newbie lists, just a casual recommendation in the start up 'how to' type guides.
    2. As a requirement for other services, for example I may provide certain design and copywriting services on the proviso that the domain is hosted there - which is a legitimate scenario to use.

Hundreds of ways to get in there and if you want to go get it then go for it...when you are ready of course.
