I just used the yahoo site explorer to check one of my sites I made about a year ago reviewing and selling Clickbank products in a single niche.

The best part?

It says I have on my 46 page site over 12,000 incoming back links,

and guess what?

I still can't rank #1 for "product name review"... sometimes I just wonder why google hates me... of course adwords converts well for me which I guess is a good thing... but man SEO must be hard.

So think about this post the next time you fork over your hard earned money for some "amazing back linking" program.

One important thing to learn about SEO's is that they're in business just like you - they can never guarantee anything and are mainly dependent on how tough it is out there and how lucky they get. If an SEO comes to you with a sales pitch full of guarantees, run a mile!

Is it because most of your inlinks of the 12K are non organics & relevant? Anyway, seo is really tough.

The anchor texts are very relevant, although the site's they are on are not. Though I think a lot of the whole "links have to be on relevant pages" is an old spook method and not true.

Of course I could be the fool and that could very well be why I have the problem I do.
