how do you create a strong AR sequence?

I'm getting ready to start a campaign based on Email marketing and I'm just not sure how to structure my AR campaign....

i know it starts with a freebie of some sort but im not sure how to structure the rest.... the campaign is all about selling just one program. I have no intentions of trying to hold onto this list and makret to them in the future.

should it go like....

Freebie

content

content

content

hard sell

or something like

freebie

content + soft sell

content + soft sell

content + soft sell

hard sell

hard sell 2

I'm just not sure how to setup this campaign and any help would be appreciated, thanks.

How are you building the list? A free report for signing up? You don't give details.

If you're giving a free report, it should already be leading to the sale. Then, your AR follow-up gets them to consume the report. It's not just about giving content - it's about expanding on the report (giving extra info, tips, ways to use in varying situations) and sending them back to consume that report, so they end up in a position where they need to buy your product.

Good questions, I was wondering the same things as I was trying to plan out my first autoresponder series today.

In my case, the freebie already has cloaked links in it to the product whose affiliate I am.

      I was thinking

      Freebie (with aff links)
      Content
      Content
      Content
      Content
      Softsell
      Content
      Hardsell
then 5 more contents before a secondary affiliate product softsold first than hardsold 1-2 emails later

    That's a given. Right?

    ...

So if you want to create a
    REALLY STRONG AR series...
    ...then you must...

    FOCUS. ON. CONNECTION.
    (connection points, but
more about that in a second.)

    You have to get sneakier
    than just plain ol' content.
But as far as CONTENT goes...

    Always give away GREAT
    content to CAPTURE their
    attention at FIRST...

But then, you have to keep
    them opening your emails
    to keep selling them stuff!

    In essence...

    YOU HAVE TO BECOME A
    STORY-TELLER

    ...

    3 things to pay attention
to while you map out your
    plan o' attack:

    1) nested loops
    2) connection points
    3) story stages

    ...

    Nested loops are easy. Just
look it up. It's all about starting
    a story...

And moving on to finish it later.

    Basically, you tell them about
    something exciting you discovered...
BUT you'll get to that LATER.

    There's something MORE IMPORTANT
to talk about RIGHT NOW. You'll
    see... just wait.

    (Anticipation.)

The theory is that you close
    these "nested loops" in reverse
    order.

    For example...

Open story 1, open story 2,
    open story 3...

Close story 3, close story 2,
    close story 1...

    This keeps them reading.

    ...

    Connection points...

    Whatever you niche is, you
    need to create points of
    connection with your reader.

Many of us live similar lives
    and have similar "turning
    points" in our lives.

What can you talk about in
    your niche that relates to
    your prospect?

    Weight loss: your struggle
    with losing weight and how
    you finally overcame it.

    Tennis: how you just couldn't
    get that serve right until
    so-and-so showed you xyz.

    Dating: you were so embarrassed
around girls and one time you
really ruined it by doing xyz.

Then, a turning point would be
how you turned it all around
    after some 'amazing' discovery!

    Connection points...

What can you talk about in
BASIC LIFE that relates to your
    niche?

    What are some things that
    EVERYONE can relate to?

    Family stories, father, mother,
    birth of sibling, jealousy, first
    girlfriend, first break up...

First time getting made fun of,
first time getting a job, first time
    quitting a job, first bills...

    First anything! etc

    ...

    Story stages are important
    for one reason: stories are
    passed by word of mouth.

    (Typically)

Or, at least, they were before
the advent of the written word.

And over time, a pattern began
to emerge. A pattern of telling
    stories that people...

    COULD. EASILY. REMEMBER.

    Basically, there are 12 'stages'
you want to touch on as much
    as possible... again...

    TO KEEP THEIR ATTENTION.

    Star Wars, The Matrix, and
    many many other popular
    stories are all...

    BASED ON THIS FORMULA.

    And they're waaay popular.

    Really, the only thing you
    need to know about this
    is Vogler's 12 Stages.

Just go to "The Twelve Stages
of The Journey" on the following
