Another Newbie Question - Paypal

I am fairly new to IM so please forgive my ignorance.

I have joined a number of affiliate sites including clickbank, Amazon and some CPA networks and they all offer to pay you by check/cheque which is what I have chosen more often that not. Most, if not all offer Paypal payment as well.

My question is can I use my regular (personal) paypal account for this or should I really open a new merchant Paypal account. Technically is there any difference?

Thanks in advance

Raj

I don't think there is any difference with your PayPal account, you can upgrade it to a Business account and verify it so that you can accept larger payments as I do.

Clickbank won't pay you by Paypal, but if you are getting sufficient affiliate commissions they will pay by wire transfer straight to your bank account, which is better that receiving USD cheques and having to pay a fee in the uK to cash them.

Here's some advice: DO NOT USE PAYPAL!

They like to freeze accounts at random and keep your money to earn interest on it. After 180 days they let you have access to it again. They are NOT a bank nor a real merchant account. Do yourself a favor and go to your local bank and open a REAL merchant account.

    Much safer.

Nick does have a point, paypal can be a pain. I would use then initially to get a toe in the water but once things take off look at opening a merchant account.

    Thanks Guys

Wow - I had no idea!

As I'm a newbie I'll stick with what I have until I start making some money, and then I'll open up a dedicted merchant account.

Even if don't recommend paypal to anyone i use it a lot.i have a premier account. There are many cpa networks that pay via paypal but i advise you to receive your payments through check not paypal coz its more safer that way.Good luck!

Oh, Paypal has served me well all these years. I didn't know that it even got some scary stories already.

I have a premier account and it is good.
