Car Boot Fairs? Off-Line Quick Cash Generating Ideas Anyone?

So I am thinking about some ways to raise some cash quickly.

My wife is taking a bunch of stuff to a car boot sale at the
weekend. I don't know if you guys in the states have these,
or if they go under a different name ...but basically its a
meeting place for people to sell their stuff, usually unwanted
and second hand items. But traders often go to sell their
stuff as well.

It got me thinking.

What with the current financial problems many people
are experiencing / bracing themselves for, I wonder what
opportunities lay before us off-line. Naturally, lots ...and
off-line is just a different means of reaching people.

So back to the car boot fairs / whatever your country
calls it...

Perhaps offering on-line stuff via off-line could work?
What I mean is, take the digital download and burn
it to CD/DVD and offering that at these types of places?

I figure many of the people who go to them are bargain
hunting, belt-tightening, financially-struggling ...individuals.

Anyway, would sure appreciate any input on this.

    Hi,

"Car Boot," Sounds like what we call swap meets.

The CD idea would work. People looking for bargains are also looking for ways to make extra cash. Also fellow sellers might buy your CDs "wholesale," to sell them from their own area.

You could also have a membership site (pass word protected) and sell access to that, for the price of a small membership card where you assign the User ID and passwords on the spot as they pay.

Or you could simply give away products that have back end sales included.

There is really no limit to the ideas you could think of to sell at such an event.

      Interesting idea.

Should give it a try and see what happens. Something you could do for so many niches. A number sprung to mind while reading this.

Once if can get some money together i might get a few small boxes of different niches on cd and give it a go myself.

I know of a few fairly big car boots round me.

      Great! Thanks George.

There is much to think about there.

So, the next step is actually finding the stuff I can offer on CD's, and
making sure I am not doing anything illegal in the process.

Your membership idea is pretty cool and potentially could open up
in to lots of other areas. The back end sales potential is certainly
      there.

Whew.. so where can I find niche info-products that I can resell in
      this manner?

That's an open question ...I will do some searching later myself.

      Cheers,

      Jordan

I'm planning on going to the USA version of a Boot Fair tomorrow with some of my stuff.

We call it a Flea Market in my neck of the woods.

    Hey Jordan,

When I think of the words "car Boot", I think of those iron boots that are put on the wheels of a vehicle to keep people from driving.

Seriously though, I agree with GW here.
