Website traffic from where I don't wan't to have it

Hello, dear Reader,

I actually started my first Blog.
Language: english.
Intention: to comunicate with english speaking countries.

When I look at my stats: 80% of the traffic is coming from Italy, where I'm living and therefore my ID is defined, but from where I don't want to have traffic.

Is there any possibility to change this or better to avoid it?

My host is settled in the US.

As I'm just starting I see this blog as kind of a test and vehicle to understand how to proceed.

Thanks for you answer.

How many UV you get every day? Have you told about your website to your friends? I think probably if it is a test site it don't have huge traffic, and maybe that 80% are you and your friends?

As you say it well, I do not get huge traffic and I didn't talk to anyone in Italy.

But I made a link to an interesting site published with the Corriere della Sera. May be this caused it.

Thanks, now I understand what happened.

Hmm, sounds Interesting... Have you tried checking your backlinks??? Maybe Foreign sites are linking to you and bringing you direct traffic. These could be good because it means you have good content that attracted other countries. Just my 2 cents. Let us know what happened. Good luck!

I wouldn't really worry about it. Traffic from other countries really don't hurt. I'm sure there are some people in Italy that do speak english, and will BUY your stuff.
