How much do you think it costs to make a game like Farmville?

Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to get a game like Farmville created?

Not that I'm planning anything... I'm just curious.

Heh, I wonder if it would've been as successful if it was just a standalone game with no connections to facebook, though it would probably be cheaper if it didn't have facebook integration, right?

    Farmville between $100,000 and $300,000 according to various estimates to develop plus you have the ongoing costs... still makes a pretty penny though

    Mark is correct I guess, but it actually depends on the team, if you will share the profits , you work together, or having your own workers and you getting 100% profit, but maybe a team of 20, you share 5% each or something, that would be better instead of paying quarter of a million for me

    I saw a dupe copy going for $25k a while ago!

    Not sure how many copies they were selling or how much it cost to be created though!

      If you use the big G and search "Farmville clone" (no quotes). You will find several sites that have given bids on doing such a project.

    I was amazed at how much it cost to develop that script but i think i am right in saying that once after that one is finished other games could use part of that games platform hence reduced costs in the future,but i could be totally wrong on that one.
